Thanks Queenslander

Even though some of these people don't have the right certification to have the system connected it makes my blood boil to think that you still have to put things right before you can pass the job. As with the TT system surely it is just a case of the earth bonding. To be honest with you I have gotten too comfortable doing my Heating systems and probably would not be able to pass the exams with any confidence. I have forgotten the last time I had to do any calculations. 32 years doing heating systems and it seems I am rare in the trade too and in demand. I have to say I am very good at what I do though and have seen some horrific work even from NIC registered contractors. Sole traders and others. Wish my health were better cause I could be earning a lot more than I do now.

What wrong with doing heating systems? if you have done this so long I am sure this is your 'thing' I have acutually 3 trades that I have papers for (time served apprentice) but at the end of the day I am an electrician and nothing else. Re your Health you dont look well in your photo but i thought it was a winter thing (and poor choice of clothing makes it worse) I encourage everyone to find their 'lot' as if you do what you enjoy for a living then you never have to work a day in your life!

yes I know...actually in my house we have gas...I think we was one of the first one that we had gas central heating in Cyprus and now I want to be sure...its cheap comparing with the other two...but after 2-3 years we had a problem with the platform or something...I am not good at that...anyway we fixed that and everything its fine now and when I go back I will move in my own house which is new and we havent put the central heating yet. I heard a lot and I wanted to see the professionals opinion. Thanks for the respond queenslander

@ LENA,

It all depends on the price you pay for each one actually.

Currently the use of diesel is the most economic one, and the use of gas or electricity the less economic in terms of heating value per pound.

Do you have any idea what is the price of gas in Cyprus, and what is the heating value per Kg of gas my dear?

Fyi a gas heating system in Cyprus will have a running cost (to heat your house) almost double than Electricity.
