queenslander wrote:I am sorry but the info from pyrpolizer is rubbish if you want to work for yourself you need to be licenced in cyprus and to get them to connect power you need a cyprus licence number If you have 3.3kva You dont have enough to connect a pump let alone a house (i think you got it wrong) I am electrical contractor here and I have licences in over 30 countries (over 20 years experience) and I can tell that if you want to work for a local contractor you will find work , If you want to work for youself you will need to get the local licence
Feel free to contact me on 99101711 if you want more info I have a few projects coming up and I am looking for good sparks either subbies or staff

Pyros is right you have to take exams again for the licence...even Cypriots who work with their parents since they were children have to get the licence!!!! So you have to do that anyway!!!

Yes the exams are done in english but they are translated from greek and the reference material (in the exam)they provide is in greek, so it is a hard slog to get though it and it will show in you results and keep in mind some of the questions asked are local so if you dont have local experience it will make it even harder. the last time the did exams here was last week the time before that was 2005 and before that was 1999 the only reason they tested so quickly was the the exam in 2005 that all sparks here had to take most failed so they delayed the implemention of the 16 th edition depending on the outcome of the last test it may be 5 years before they test again

Sorry to come across as thick, but does that mean I could have to wait many years unitil I can become licensed to install electrical installations if I was intending to work for myself ? :?

By the way your projects sound very interesting :)

Would very much like to chat about this, I could well be interested.
