A few posts back , my dear friend and co TRUE CYPRIOT Kikapu ! when asked for the number of his mobile he responded by informing us that neither he nor his girlfriend used mobiles !
I went on to make a joke and responded that I have 3 mobiles and that I employ Kurds to run them !! Also added " I dont blame his girlfriend for not having one since the work involved is most certainly not suited for a lady "
For anyone who is not familiar with the other meaning of MOBILE , in the UK is a burger joint , hot dogs etc.
I was surprised that some on this forum actually fell for little joke , I think Kikapu knew from the start but some did not, I just thought I clarify this, that even an old boy like me , given the right amount of alcohol , can make a joke.
So to my dear friend Lena , dont be silly girl , that was a joke !
I run 4 mobiles.

Not forgetting Eliko the tiger who adviced me to drop my mobiles and speed off to Cyprus and preach !! You obviously havent been to Hyde Park recently !

Ummm..... no it isn't, not unless used in context e.g "I run a mobile 'bab van", "mobile mechanic", "mobile home" etc. etc.

Pete , if I told you I run a mobile in the correct context , ie selling burgers and hot dogs then you will get the meaning wont you . I missed out the word "burger "

Miltiades...can you explain me that??? What that have to do with the Cyprus problem??? And I thought we clear that up...I told you that I didnt knew that...his job and everything...and I said sorry about that...and I explain why I said all this things and you agreed on that. Thanks for that Miltiades. I guess you are a person who wants to be understood. Contrary to some others who not only fail in that, but they also think that every person who uses English as a 2nd language should have previously taken a course on idioms used at their local village.
