Any EU national wanting to live in another country still has to be accepted by the country they want to live in, not just start killing ppl and take over countries! i dont think its what the EU has in mind do you??? . In answer to your surprise at the well maintained church, it was probably one of the few that have been preserved for visiting tourists such as yourself (no offence). The churches in the vast majority of villages have been used to house animals, used as warehouses, ransacked and been destroyed in every sence of the word, rather than be maintained as churches. Icons are found frequently in other countries where they have been sold with anything else the pilaging Turks could get their hands on. The only reason the north is in the state that it is, is because they have taken everything they can and given absolutely nothing back. Theyre waiting to get into the EU, so they can be given grants to pay for it i guess, makes them look good and saves them from spending anything.

If you want to make sense of it all then dont come to this forum for your first lesson (no offence anybody) but go and buy some books that look at both sides of the debate (there are plenty) then talk to people on both sides personally as in forums everyone want to shove everything down your throat faster than you can think and form an opinion

Thanks for the advice queenslander, not totally naive to the situation, have read some, have spoken to lots (more gc's than tc's) but I'm always open to opinions.
