Can't identify CIA planes

Postby reportfromcyprus » Sat Jan 27, 2007 7:21 pm

Don't know whether to laugh or cry over this story, but when the government says it can't tell whether the CIA is landing at Larnaka because their planes don't carry insignias, it beggars belief :)

This issue started back in July 2006, it still hasn't been resolved.

Methinks that an investigation will get the run-around :)

CIA planes also landed at Pafos airport.

There's a neat article here by Makarios Drousiotis:

There's an Amnesty International report here:

Unfortunately, I cannot give the date or time, but I was travelling from LCA to VIE about 3 y ago. As the plane was taxiing to the N end of the runway, I observed a USAF plane discreetly parked at the NW. end of parking apron. I mentally wondered what the hell at the time, as I couldn't think of a reason for its being there.

Americans at Akrotiri, get with the times people. American's have been at Akrotiri since Gary Powers fateful U-2 flight. Where do you think he took off from...it wasnt Korea. The Americans have always been there. Large planes seen on Aktrotiri are most likely refuelers or cargo planes. CIA rendition flights were and probably still being accomplished with lear jets with no U.S. markings only tail numbers. There is a website where you can search tail numbers. The CIA rendition flights used a dummy corporation as cover, just like they did during Vietnam.
