This cypriot night ..do all the bars in the square join in or is it just one in particular ..Would I need to book in advance or just turn up?

Think I'll give it a go next time

No worries Rich, the tavernas all join to one. We did pre book to be safe but you may get away with just turning up, depending on what time of year etc.

Take a look at the link...

There is a couple of links to the Pissouri night, you'll see the pics - be aware tho, you will wake up with a hangover!!

Thanks everyone for your replies ...............and Lena, thanks for links, not had time for a good look yet, but it looks very interesting, have signed up for monthly newsletter :)

Big trees, my sentiments exactly! Do you live in Polis full time or is it a holiday home? I have heard the weather is a lot milder there than Paphos. :?:

Hi KrisKris, you are welcome
No, Pafos is my mum's hometown, and generally I am in love with Pafos. Why??? Just check this link....

But every year I go even for few days holidays to Latsi which is next to Polis (you will see that in the links :D ). To be honest I prefer Latsi, next to the beach, with the small port...if you are interested there are diving schools, few water sports, small boats which take you up to Akamas, they offer food, they stop for swimming...I recommend that definitely...!!!!!!!!!!! Its closer to Baths of Afrodite too!!!! Take a look on that too!!!

One of my best friends have a restaurant, hotel and boats that make those trips there...(but I didnt gave you any info about this - if you want I can sent you those)!!!!

Hi Richard.
My family and I visit Pissouri around 8 weeks in the year (we own a villa in the bay), and always go to the Wednesday night Cyprus night when it is on. We always go to the Vraka Tavern, because they seem the busiest, have the best location and we are now good friends with the owner and waiting staff. The buffet meal costs about £8 and a carafe of wine is £4.
I believe the Cyprus night starts about mid-May and stops around the October half-term week. Last year we were out during October half-term and they had already stopped putting on the Cyprus night because of (unusually early) storms the previous week.
Also, we have been to the Friday night Cyprus night on occasion, which is in the Vine Leaf Tavern in the bay. This is also pretty good, but then you only have the choice of one restaurant.
If you do visit, be sure to visit some of the other recommended restaurants:- The Hideaway just off the square, The Hill View, Perry's Palm Beach in the bay, Liminaki in the bay and either of the Columbia Beach hotel restaurants. Many of the others are also very good, these are just our favourites.
We think Pissouri is an absolute gem, and can't wait till we can make it our main base when our kids leave home in the UK.
