Hi everybody hope someone can help

we are a young family who are feed up with things in england and would like to better our lives and that of our child we have visited cyprus a few times and have friends who live in the pafos area so we would like to move over to that area of cyprus but we are not sure on a few things we would appreciate if anyone could help us

i am a quilified mechanic with 22 yrs of experience and i have also been an mot tester for almost 5 yrs please could anyone tell me what the work situation like for mechanics / MOT testers ?

also what is the basic sort of weekly wage?

does anyone know of any english mechanics or garages in the pafos area?

as we curenty run our own mobile mechanic business here in the uk we would like to do something simular in cyprus eventually so if anyone could help with any parts suppliers i would be very greatful

Simon,

There's a mobile mechanic (English) operating out of Limassol who I have met.

He's been in Cyprus for some years now and is not short of work.

I think with some initial promotion and a good size van you'll build up the client base easily via word of mouth.

That is if you're any good and charge reasonable rates:)

yeah i dont think you're going to have a problem finding a job as a mechanic.

as for the salary... i wouldnt know. dont expect to earn as much as you did in england if you are going to be working for someone, but if you start up your own then its got potential.

with your experience you might even be able to find a job working in a dealership. i think they pay a good penny and the working enviroment is really good.

MOT testing is relatively new in cyprus, so i wouldnt be surprised if you had no trouble finding a job doing that
