We have rescued hundreds of cats and dogs here and rehomed most of them. The ones that we could not or have not homed we are taking to the UK within the next couple of months, they all have passports. This white cat showed up at our door a couple of months ago so does not have a passport to travel. He has just moved in with us and is so so affectionate and friendly - you will love him. See our website for more info on the what we do: www.cypruscatrescue.co.uk

Do you have any other pets? Can I have your number to chat? Email me at [email protected]

I can probably tell you. Junemichael is an avid animal lover and takes all the waifs and strays that pass her door into her loving arms. Unfortunately she has so many animals that she is unable to keep them all. She is an unregistered animal welfare charity and doing a wonderful job where the Cyprus Government is failing so badly.

Junemichael- am i right???

Yes Twinkle you are exactly right except we don't just take the waifs and strays that pass our door we take any sick or injured cat or abandoned kitten that we find along our way, plus picked up many dogs that need help. We never put them in the shelters as we know their fate could be death and we could not live with that on our conscience. Some times we have had up to 7 dogs at our very tiny home and I tell you it is hard work but we do it for the poor animals that need us.

We also try to neuter and spay as many stray cats as possible, all that pass into our home are operated including this beautiful white cat.

Thanks for your support Twinkle, do we know you at all?

No. But we've "spoken" before on this forum. We have a jack russell and took in a stray in October. He adopted us, just turned up one evening. He had had his whiskers burnt with a cigarette and was very skinny. Little did we know this boxer/lab cross would turn into a whinging baby every morning. Must say, I've grown to love him. He is a soppy sausage!!!

I too took in one of the many Cyprus strays. At first we had a bit of a nightmare with our male lab/pointer/jack russel mix? (we're still not 100% sure what he is!!) As he had never lived in a house before marking terrirory came with the territory which yes did cause some problems (mostly with myself and my partner over who was cleaning it up! will have you know it was me 99% of the time) but after he got used to the idea of going outside do do his business he's rarely ever done it again. He's now a extremely lovable and very animated dog. He would never play with a ball or toy as he had no idea what they did, now it's like he's a puppy all over again as he's just now discovering that when you bite into that ball, no way!! it squeaks!!! His first encounter with snow (at troodos last week) was funny too.. very hesitant at first but then loved it, leaping around like a little dear.
As you can tell, this dog is with us for life, he is just one of the hundreds of strays that could use a good loving home. I think what you're doing (Junemichael) is wonderful. I wish i had the space to take more in myself but we have a small home and our little dog just doen't like sharing his attention.
Well done, I wish you all the best.

Your dog sounds like ours, did you see our website with the dog Scooby? He hates other dogs too as he gets jealous so when we have rescued others it is very difficult for us. Unfortunately we have had to keep rescues in the bathroom or on the balcony to keep them all separate. It is a nightmare but we have no choic.

Thanks for telling us your story - we too took Scooby up to the snow on Sunday and he loved it, just like a big baby!!
