i personally dont have one, and i was told by the officers that i wouldnt be allowed back south if i dont get one, which i will not, so looks like no more 31 for me...

Nor do I, its the principle thing just as the GC do not want to cross using their passports I do not want to use a passport of a country that I do not pay taxes to, feel I belong or represents me. Using the TRNC passport forces other countries to take note that there is a country called the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

We dont need a passport to go around in my country, I dont do that to go to Limasol, Larnaca or Pafos and I dont want to do that for Kerynia or Famagusta. Using my passport to go to the north side of the island doesnt change anything. My country recognize me as one of the citizens, so I use my passport to travel outside Cyprus. And they recognize me without any "force".

Ho I can assure you, you do, just try and go to Kyrenia not Kerynia without one.....if you do not face reality then you have to face the cost, which is not travelling around your country.

Viepoint I know what is happening around me, I know the reality! Thats why I said that I am not going there...but you dont need one why I need one? Can you explain me that? Why I need a passport to travel around "MY COUNTRY" as you said too?

I showed my Id card card when I travelled south...if its such a problem for you to show a piece of paper to travel around your country then you are better off staying south as it is your loss not mine.

As you said the passport is not just a piece of paper...its the recognition of a different country. I dont travel north of the island as I travel to UK. I travel to my country. Why I have to show my passport?

Far as I know you don't need an ID to drive from one state to another in the US. (unless you look like my mate scott and want to get in a bar).

Why do you have to shown an ID when driving across turkey?

You always have to carry id in turkey as you can be asked for it at anytime if you do not produce you can be fined.

You travel by car train or plane, the point is you have to show id in these countries its not that unusual. You GCs are just doing being pig headed and just think if there is never a solution you will never see the north of as you put it your country, think that's a big loss for you not me.

Vp listen closely....there's a huge difference with being asked for ID so that a policeman may identify you and a with a bunch of guys dressing up as policemen and pretending they're manning a border.

WHen you drive from one place to another in those countres you've mentioned you do not need ID to go from one place to the next. If you are travelling on a domestic flight then you need to show something so as to identify you for the plane...not to allow you to go to that part or not.
