How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Go ahead and try to eat grass, you are a fly and you will only end up with a stomachache.

If you feel this way then just leave us alone in what ever position we choose to be in, do you realize that TCs can go live in the south? The propaganda you feel I put about would not have any impact on anyone who feels the "RoC" can provide them a better life than the one they have today. This is what GCs and you find difficult to understand and digest. If there is nothing on offer that is better than today no one will just up sticks and move south to live in a GC state.

Forget us Bir, continue to live and die in Aussie amongst foreigners and never come back to as you keep saying the non exsistent TRNC, we are not your people.

I can easily forget about you, viewpoint, but I can't forget about my motherland,Cyprus. It is people with your mentality (and your counterparts on the GC side) which has caused me to leave my country at the most critical age of 17,and to live in exile wondering when you will come to your senses and stop this smallminded, nationalistic Turkish and Greek chavinism,so that we can return to our homeland. The answer seems to be never, and i have started detesting people like you and what you stand for:division, bitterness, hatred, injustice, bigotry, revenge and an insatiable greed for onesidedness...

For your information I am very proud of being a Turkish Cypriot, and I have no wish to live in a GC state.I do want to live in a Cyprus free of the hatreds and the bitternesses of the past,as an equal citizen, standing on his own two feet with dignity and self-respect. Is that really so difficult for you to understand?

Without adding insult to injury Bir you are free to do that as VP said. For us there is no choice. You blame us for making this bed and we did nothing of the sort but we will sleep in it. Our choice our fears our destiny.

Common Zan...You can do better than that. You are an intelligent, sensitive, compassionate person. You don't belong with the miserly, smallminded, bigoted nationalists that VP represents...
Return to the source...the light, the compassion, love, justice and forgiveness. You owe it to your boys...

Will never happen BK. The hatred the Greeks feel for Turks is legendary. Stop dreaming and start excepting reality.

We have the same desire as you, the only difference being we have been there done it and got the T-shirt. You are not a kid, learn where your loyalties should lie.

Why not,Mrfromng? Why give up so quickly? After all we only tried it once in 1960-63 and admitedly made a mess of it. Don't you think we are intelligent enough and civilised enough to make it happen if we get a second chance on a level playing field? With cyprus in the EU,becoming more and more multicultural every day,do you honestly believe we could repeat the mistakes of the past? If I stop dreaming,I will not be able to live with myself. And I am too young to die yet... :)

just wait for the next election... If Akel and EDEK support again a DIKO candidate, which is more than certain, then the next Greek Cypriot president will be ......Armenian! Marios KAROYIAN not only is Armenian which means forget ANY solution, but he is also a NATIONALIST.... convinced?

The question that needs to be answered by you is a.) do you honestly want to unite or is just a slogan and b.) if yes, what compromises are you ready to make from your part as a TC?

Thank you Kifeas for picking up on that post..

Let me put it this way if the conditions for a united Cyprus are such that TCs can see that being united is a better deal than being divided I am 100% certain the north would take that step forward, now when it comes to compromise lets try it this way as previously we were unsucessful, what compromises do you want from the TCs? (Kindly list them)

What do you expect he's going to say VP? Honestly, either you're an optimist to the point of delusion, or you think that he's going to give you a reasonable answer. Either way, you're bound to be disappointed.

Haven't you learned yet?

So far I use to believe (and hope) that you are a young fellow that hasn't done enough and thorough studding yet on the issues you are trying to talk about, that is why you come up with certain arguments and ideas. Now I am convinced that your problem relates more with your low IQ than anything else.

You mean you are not yet convinced that the conditions and the prospects of a united Cyprus constitute a better deal than the current situation? What else do you want to see, in order to be convinced that indeed this is the case? Do you want to continue living on stolen properties and indefinitely continue to claim being a (non-existent and illegal) state, the present cold war to continue indefinitely, your community to live in isolation and off the side of Turkish subsidies indefinitely, the Greek Cypriots to indefinitely continue preparing for an attack -in order to liberate their occupied country and until they get the chance to do this one day, and Turkey to never enter the EU and continue to relegate into a third world pariah country? All these are results and consequences of the non solution and non-unification that will most likely continue to remain in place indefinitely, and can only end up if there is a solution. Aren’t all these enough reasons to convince you that unification is a better deal for all of us? What is the purpose for me to tell you what compromises do you need to make for the sake of re-unification, if you still maintain the illusion that it is possible for you to eventually manage to have your cake and eat it all ...in this day and age?

I don't have a problem.

Cyprus has a problem - it's still at war, its leaders aren't doing anything constructive except making long speeches full of delusions of grandeur and hubris, the ultra-nationalists are taking this country back 50 years, and you talk about my IQ?

Ask yourself what the root cause of this current situation is, if you're honest with yourself, you have to admit that it's ultra nationalism. In the 50's, 60's and today.

What are you doing to change things for the better?

And I'm not a young lad :P
