Turkey is at risk of losing the Turkish Cypriots

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What ??? The whole world ? Is it the same whole world who recognises Cyprus ? Is it the whole world who recognises the Armenian genocide ?
Is it the same whole world who does not recognise the "TRNC " I wonder .
But there again , living in a fools paradise is quite common amongst artists !!

Miltiades, legal recognition would only blind so many people from the truth and the "fairness" of our situation, you are full aware of the fact that TCs are being treated a lot worse than they deserve, just like you were in 74 (although that is still debatable), however TCs have shown that they want peace and the GCs have shown that they only want peace if they can have EVERYTHING they want, it would not take a rocket scientist to add up the facts, you guys are being very unreasonable, and i know your highly nationalistic and proud attitude will never give space for you to admit it, which is fine by me, im getting used to you already....but more and more people are waking up to see what really is going on here...

...and about the Armenian "genocide", i think its mainly the Armenians that are making so much noise about it, apart from that French have brought in silly laws to recognize it (altho it was them who supported the Armenians against the Turks at the time (!!!)), but later on Chirac admitted the fact that he was only doing it for his own political benefit...they died during a war and no one in Turkey would accept anything more, and on this case, and Turkey (very rightfully), will never accept the views of the same people who were actually fighting against her along WITH the Armenians, and that includes mainly the Greeks, British, French and Armenians, so you do see the irony i hope, it is a bit ridiculous

I fail to see the similarities between the holocaust and the Turkish War of Independence...

Unless you are implying that Ataturk had similar ideologies as Hitler, which i dont think you are...

Zan

I received your message but cannot respond by PM as it comes up as "Temporarily Disabled".

Your assumption was incorrect, so no offence taken. We can all stumble inn to the wrong conclusion at times.

PM me again some time and we could possibly discuss this over a drink. I may be closer than you think to that.

I know Shah, was just responding to the greedy buggers comment...I don't think anyone ever thought there was a chance of getting you guys assimilated into the GCs. I think they could have sold the plan a lot better to the more nationalist ones if this was a possible outcome. I don't really know how to get it across that myhself and so many like me have nothing against the turkish culture and would love to share our country with the TC's. Just tonight, I went for a drink with a friend of mine and his little brother who recently got out of the army, he is a student and introduced me to his girlfriend who happens to be turkish. You;d think if there was any brainwashing it would be happeing in the army, a kid this fresh out of it should be spitting blood at the sight of a turk according to some of you.

I gaurantee that the vast majority of us want to get on with their lives and at worst would be indifferent to the notion of living with TC's.

The annan plan saga however was just wrong. The plan was unfair and one sided. It ddn;t need much to make me personally able to vote for it but couldn;t in full consciousness vote for something that would turn round and bite my kids ass in the future.

The most annoying part is that the RoC could have done more to make the plan palatable by talking to the TCs and making the necessary changes.
