Notice the date of that. It was during the Turkish invasion! The Turks killed 1000s of Greek Cypriots and were raping little girls. Apparently this made some greek Cypriots upset! The TCs talk about a few villages like Tochni. We have 100s of villages like that because of the Turkish invasion and over 1000 of missing people!

Turkish Army never been in Tochni !!!!!!! or Paphos or other villages in the south !!!!!! At least do not deny it ... You lost many GCs as well but as you know many of them again EOKA-B killed. Its not 200 years ago , Everyone knows they were collecting mens and putting them in schools. OK . BOTH SIDES MADE MISTAKES BUT YOU SHOULD ABLE TO SEE THE MISTAKES . If you tell me in the Kyrenia mountains many GC died i will not deny that but You should never deny this about total killings. I cant have this . I can tell many real stories which is from my family. My Mum sister husband Mum and Father are missing as well. I dont hate GreekCypriots but you can never ever deny what hapen in the past. BUT THE END PAST IS PAST .

How many Germans were killed in the two wars they started....

Millions. So you see. The Turks started a war and they killed 1000s and they didn't think they would have casualties too?

And how many people change history to suit????

Dont be so stupid,
When Turkey came they had only 2 days war. And in the war its normal that both side have casualtys. BUT ITS NOT NORMAL THAT MASS GRAVES Which EOKA-B Killed Makarios siders and TCs !!!!!
This is very sensitive situation and its better you close this case if you want to leave in peace with TCs because every cypriot knows what happend but we trying to forget

joanna wrote:I have heared of this story before, but you must understand that the same thing applies for the GC's, there are thousands missing still and stories of what happened to them are heared all the time. There are children, babies , missing, that will now be in their 30's. What happened to them, can anyone tell their poor mothers??. And while they lived peacefully in Tochni and in Kalavasos, my father told me of how when he was a young boy, they could not travel through or past Maroni village during the late 50's and 60's without being shot at by Turks, why i do not know, but it just shows that both sides made mistakes.

About 50s 60s as much as i know we were living friendly . But 1 think i know that UK take many TCs to work for police SBA and they were under UK control when they told them to shoot EOKA. DVIDE and RULE . Anyway main reason all about this was UK.

I don't think anybody denied what happened in Tochni and 1-2 more TC villages during the Turkish invasion.

But as Sotos said, what happened to 2-3 TC villages, happened to 100s of GC villages. The Turkish army entered the villages, raped under-age girls, killed innocent people and forced the rest to abandon their villages. As a result they have ethnically cleansed 200.000 people (the great majority) from more than 1/3rd of Cyprus.

It is sad what happened in Tochni, but if you put it into perspective, it just a drop in the ocean compared to what the Turks did to GCs during their invasion, and those Turkish actions during the invasion are actually what caused the anger that resulted in the Tochni incident. (without this being an excuse)

No TC was harmed in 1974 before the Turkish invasion had started. Yes, many innocent TCs, and many more innocent GCs lost their lives because of the Turkish invasion, and all those actions should be condemned no matter who did them.

The sad thing is that some people not only do not condemn those actions but on the contrary they continue in the same way by supporting crimes and illegalities today. It is time all those illegalities and the war that started by the Turkish invasion to end with the removal of the Turkish troops from the Republic of Cyprus and the restoration of the human, legal and democratic rights of all Cypriots.

GAVCARoCOM, EOKA killed as many TCs, as the TMT killed GCs. A few 100s.

The Turkish army killed 1000s of people within days.

So get your facts straight. There are more GC missing and more GCs buried in mass graves than TCs. Unfortunately you seem to know only the part of the story they taught you.

I agree with that Gav. But when some people single out some incidence and they forget everything else in an effort to mislead, then some things should be said.

To move to the future we should all admit all the crimes of the past, but most importantly to stop supporting crimes and illegalities today by selectively using the past as a lame excuse. Don't you agree?

I dont think they get much smaller, except maybe for Kato Dri.

I love these places.

My Uncle's family come from Kato drys, very beautiful village...but I think I can come up with even smaller villages. If you pass through Kato Drys and keep going up, and up, and up (Quite high..)...you'll get to my Mothers Village, Odhou which is smaller than kato Drys and my grandfather originally comes from a village called Ora which is even smaller than Odhou...

As far as I am concerned there is no excuse. This was a villager lining up their co-villagers for death, that is sad state of affairs, the rest of the village could have shouted for this to stop, some racist wanker in the village had a lot to do with it, And a boy????? sorry, NO EXCUSE. What about the boy who was nearly flattened by a dead person after dead person????? Let us not take away Cemaliyes' pain by our comments please. Two wrongs do not make aright.
