I wasn't complaining, or siding with one or the other... I'm just curious why people accept sub-standard travel conditions without complaint until - and only until, they step into an airport.
I can shed some light on the vast difference in fares for the same flight actually. To make a profit (which is why the airplane is flying in the first place) the seats are divided into 'lots'. Each 'lot' has it's own particular fare, starting from cheap to expensive. As the cheapest seats or fares are taken, then the airline moves on to sell the next 'lot' for which the fare is higher. You can of course be lucky, and turn up on the day you want to travel, and find a seat in the lower fare 'lot' still available, or you can be unlucky and find all the cheapest fares gone weeks in advance. From London to Larnaca, I've paid between 70quid and 400quid, and to be honest.. I've found BA to be routinely cheaper than Cyprus Airways.
Before you all start on me..... NO, I don't work for BA or any other carrier that services Cyprus!!
