Pillows

Hi

Is it possible to buy feather pillows in Cyprus ? I much prefer them to the foam ones and I can`t recollect seeing them anywhere.

Thanks

Debenhams sell feather and down duvets, I don't know about pillows, but they may be worth a try!

They sell them in many shops for home. I've seen them at Carefour also.

I also need to buy pillow etc.in fact a whole load of bedding. Am I cheaper to buy it in the UK and bring out with luggage or should I wait and buy in Cyprus? Actually the same applies for kitchen goods? Any ideas? Thanks. :D

We bought all our bedding including pillows from the UK... not feather though. We used those reinforced laundry bags. It was amazing how many pillows can be compressed into one bag and it still weighed next to nothing.

Great idea, but what are reinforced laundry bags? What about pots/pans, cutlery etc?

They are made from thick weave nylon, a bit like the anti weed mat you get from garden centres but a bit more colourful. We got ours from a UK market but I have seen them in most pound shops also. If you put a layer of soft then a layer of hard (kitchen stuff etc) it works quite well. With experience there was a some things we could have got in Cyprus at about the same price but we knew the English shops then but not the Cypriot ones and we needed things in a hurry. BTW as extra security we wrapped parcel tape around the bags once full. The main advantage of these bags is they are very light so enable to maximise your luggage allowance. The average big suitcase is 4-5 kgs. They can look a bit naff though :-))
