No one (that I am aware of) is saying the man is stupid.
What people are saying is that he has always wanted a solution in Cyprus where the TC are a political minority. He can be imo devious, insincere and manipulative (some would say essential political skills). He has some very worrying (to TC) past connections to eoka and the akritas plan. He also made the claim recently that no TC was killed by a GC in 63-74. And he is the president of the RoC which claims to represent all cypriots. Not stupid but possibly dangerous if what is wanted is real unity on the Island any time soon.
