Can you two guys go and continue your fight behind the bicycle sheds and let everyone else get on with discussing the topic.

I
would never die in the GC south as that to me is like a foreign country no different from Italy or Spain.

This from a T/C who passionately believes in the destruction of Cyprus .
This from a man who denies his country of birth , who refers to our Cyprus as a foreign country within a country.I seriously advice you to look for alternative employment since your performance so far has been abysmal , contradictory , stubbornly unreal and manipulative to extreme. You have taken common sense to new depths of depravity if you are saying as you do that I and the thousands of other Cypriots are foreigners in our birthcountry , frankly my dear you are as thick as two planks of wood if you consider Cyprus as a foreign country like Spain or Italy , I asked you before since you are not a Cypriot why not return to ypur motherland dude.

Just because my vision of Cyprus differs from yours does not make me wrong, we are the new generation and our children are even more distanced from your vision of the old Cyprus where you claim all was rosy and everyone lived in harmony, this does not mean in anyway we are all the things you say above.

Your constant personal insults I hopw will be picked up by Svetlana because I to can insult you with just as moch even more venom if thats what you want, just continuw with your current style of abusive posting.

The GC state "RoC" run by GCs for GCs is of course like another country what did you expect? we TCs do not know or remeber your Cyprus we only know ours which is the TRNC, we love and cherrish it but are not closed minded enough to know that if unificiaiton is better for our community we would take that step but in the current climate it is leaning much more towards TCs working hard for recognized partition via a relaxation of embargos on the TC people. You have had many chances to make things work right back when you had your Cyprus upto the Annan plan and your incompetent leaders (ours to) have not been able to resolve anything, why dont you go and complain to them for not working harder to find resolve with the TCs and to show them that Cyprus is much better off united than divided. Their poliics is also one of nuturing division and you have yet to realize this the day you do is the day you will realize that TCs just want to live in peace and not be dominated by the GC majority.

I have every right to harshly criticize and call stupid any argument that is so totally absurd , not because is different from my views but is quite blatantly preposterous. This is a forum for people , mostly Cypriots , to exchange views and put forward constructive ideas. When an idea is put forward that Cyprus is a foreign country within a country , what the hell do you expect the reply to be. You have taken propaganda in the gutter and it belongs there, wake up and stop pretending that you supported the Annan Plan , since you consider the ROC to be another Spain , Italy or Pakistan how the hell can you have the front to speak about unification. You are a traitor to your own country and your views are nothing short of a poisonous nature.Your vulgar and continued declaration that your country of birth does not exist is disgraceful , I suggest again you look for alternative employment since your performance is as effective as tea spoon used to demolish a wall.
Your employers ought to also advice you to pay a little attention and not be in such a hurry to post another insignificant post before using the spell check.

i have to say VP has a point, i had never seen the south until a few years ago, until then it was just this place i could just about see beyond the barbedwires from the end of my garden, wondering what was there, untill one day i got shown the park in Nicosia where you could actually see the GCs get on with their lives, i sat there staring at the place for hours, i thougth it was the strangest thing ever. So as you would expect Miltiades, it is kind of hard for me to take a few trips to the south and suddenly decide that this is actually where i belong and that i have been living in a false land my whole life. It is practically a different country for me, i probably know more about Berlin or Madrid than i do about the other side of my island...

First thing I want to say is I dont want to join in the Political arguement of this thread

I would like to say that I can understand sharmarans point here. It must be difficult to contemplate living amongst people you have never met or really had any dealings with.

Can I ask a question sharmaran? Have you ever felt that you would like to visit the south for any reason even for curiosities sake?

I ask this because my wife (who is a Cypriot) went 'north' for the first time in 30 years last August she was very apprehensive, indeed a little scared at first but by the end of our visit she was crossing over with her friend having realised she had nothing to fear in fact she has managed to make some friends over there now.

As I said just a question no political motives in this :)

Sure, i have visited a couple of times, mainly places just near the gates, shops etc. and once all the way down south, i dont really have any problem with that, but it is going to take many MANY more trips before, if ever, i can say that it is my "nation"...

Thanks for the answer sharmaran

I just think that if more people did take the time to cross over (either way) then they would realise that there is nothing to fear from the other side

Of course there will always be a small minority of extremists ready to cause trouble but that can be said of any nation /City anywhere in the world

Have a good day mate
