This is exactly why i dont say im Turkish nor im Cypriot, but im from North Cyprus, the UN does not make me feel like im a part of you, so i dont care what they say about me, im from TRNC! u cant just stick nationalities on people through politics, or maybe u can but its just plain wrong! my god i felt like a Kurd there for a moment....

I was born in Cyprus, therefore that makes me a Cypriot. I still consider myself a 100% Cypriot. Why should it matter, if the majority happens to be of Greek speaking. I only give my language as Turkish, if asked, otherwise I'm a Cypriot. 100% of Cyprus is part of me, and I'm 100% part of Cyprus.

We had this discussion few days ago, as to who is a "True Cypriot" and who is something else. You are correct not to feel like a "True Cypriot", because the environment you're living now, is part Turkey, and part "TRNC", and part Cyprus. You really do not have a true and defined identity, because you don't know who you belong to. If you don't know who you belong to, then you really don't know who you really are. The longer the division continues, the worst it will get for you, specially, if the island did unite some time in the future, then how will you adapt. Play it safe, and call yourself Cypriot, and if asked which side, then say Turkish Cypriot. If you continue to say " I'm from Northern Cyprus", what does that make you anyway.?? Northern Cypriot'' .

Just asking.!!

Actual and real northern Cypriots are only the (centuries old) 200,000 indigenous Greek Cypriot inhabitants of the north part of Cyprus that have been ethnically cleansed by Turkey in 1974!

No matter how many lies they wish to continue saying, nothing can turn the 120,000 mainland Turkish settlers from Anatolia and the 55,000 TCs that moved from the south, into "northern Cypriots!" What a joke indeed!

i have stopped taking Kifeas seriously a long time ago, arguing with him is like arguing with a 100 year old dead oak tree, nothing new to offer!

but i do have to say this to Kikapu, trust me my friend i am NOT LOST! infact im probably one of the only ones whos nationaliy has not been successfully diluted by the Greeks as yourself, plus i do not believe that my identity is all that dependant on my "nationality", and more importantly i have learned that "playing it safe" usually equals to what i believe is called a "herd psyschology" which is definately not my thing, but if you "feel safe" doing it then be my guest, but definately dont expect me to simply FOLLOW!! thats probably the saddest thing i have heard since i have joined this forum, and its even more sad to see that it comes from a TC! : /

Kikapu of course 100% of Cyprus is yours and mine and belongs to all Cypriots. The partitionists amongst us on this forum and I quote words from ZAN are looking for a new world , a modern world an exciting world , and they have found it in Turkey.Good luck to them , but our Cyprus belongs to us the CYPRIOTS and it will be our task to convince them that committing identity suicide is paramount to locking your self in a prison cell .

Our prison cell is losing its walls and our identity as just Cypriots was stripped away by our prison guards. Both seem less significant to us after 32 years of intransigence and they too have moved on. They are not the Cypriots they used to be and some of them have become even worse. I have no problem with the ones that can see the wrongs of their government and would ask them to look to my feelings and put two and two together and see that there is only one way forward. They like me are sick and tired of this whole affair so lets grow up and see that there is more than one Cypriot on the island and they both have the right to a future. We cannot turn time back so forward from here is the answer.

I will take you on your word that you are NOT LOST,Shahmaran, but you are certainly VERY CONFUSED. You accuse kikapu of having a "herd psychology" for sticking his neck out and claiming that he is 100% Cypriot.
Is that a sign of somebody who FOLLOWS as you say?And how does that make Kikapu "feel safe" exactly?

I'd say that those who want to "feel safe" are those who are content to live in an open prison, under military rule (however disguised it might be).
If I were you I would be ashamed that my President had to go cap in hand to the Chief of Staff of Turkey's military, simply to be allowed to pull down a silly bridge that he himself had built earlier...

You say that your identity is not depandent on your "nationality".But you don't tell us what you think your nationality is? What is it? And what is your identity? Elsewhere you said you were Turkish...Can you expand on that a little? What does it feel like to be Turkish? How exactly are you like the Turks from the mainland? Do you think like them? Do you have the same sense of humour? Do you feel as strongly religious as most of them do? Do you have the same mentality and world view? Same cultural beliefs and traditions?Do you share the same history with them? Do you belong to the same gene pool as the Turks from Turkey?
And if you feel Turkish as you say,how did you decide which Turks you feel like? Those in the big cities? Those in mid Anatolian towns? Those in rural Turkey? Those in Asia Minor? Those in the Blacksea region? Those in the North East? South? South East? The ones from Hatay??? :? :? :?
