Nationality vs. Ethnicity

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

i don't care what you spin it to VP. We have lived for a great number of generations on that land. EVery single tree was planted by my great and great great grandfather...I'm leaving that property in my will to my oldest and they will continue life in Morphou as far as my family is concerned.

C'mon viewpoint. Many people who lost their homes see themselves as refugees waiting to go back to their ancestral villages and towns. It's perfectly normal for these people to do as DT does. Doesn't mean he's mad or a fanatic. Just wishes to go back some day.

Remember we are talking about losing your identiyty here. Do you want to debate what are the chances of failure in this respect? Do you want to discuss who will be losing more in a solution, at least in the short and intermediate run?

I liked your using of "maybe". We are already on even ground if you haven’t noticed. You hold land we hold economy, recognition, and prospects. Any change to that and you kiss re-unification goodbye.

We had about 300 villages in Cyprus before 1974. Some were mixed. The chances of having a mixed village JUST IN THE CENTER of the buffer zone in 1974 were very limited. But hey we did have two. Pyla is one Potamia is the other! (near Tymbou)

It refers to the post just one step away from were you were busy vandalising on your monitor.

I will be delighted to meet you Mrfromng,if you promise not to shoot me on sight... How do I know you are not a former TMT hitman?

No BirK, I'm not a hit-man, though at times I wish I was  . Neither am I an ex TMT member.

So glad you will make the time to meet up. Maybe we can have a beer at the Shangri-La and then go to Doyle's for some seafood, my wife still talks about the food at Doyle's and cant wait to revisit Australia.

I will PM you with my contact details closer to the date.

You got yourself a date,Mrfromng.

I have no idea where Shangri-La is (sounds like a hotel in Singapore!),but I know Doyle's very well. I have Champagne taste on a beer budget,as they say.Alas,my downfall... :D

Under the circumstanses this may not be possible. What would be your reaction to such an outcome?

When things don't go my way I say "well, life's a bitch, then you marry one and then you die" and get over it. Can you do the same?

Why is it not a fear when GCs are concerned but a fear with Turks?
