Nationality vs. Ethnicity

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby the_snake_and_the_crane » Thu Jan 25, 2007 2:01 am

VP is a good representation for the majority of TC's in the TRNC

No wonder Bir hasnt been back. Do you blame him if the majority of TC in the occupied north are supposedly as devious and ignorant as VP.

i dont think VP is devious and ignorant at all, infact i think he is more in touch with the reality of what is going on here, then most, and judging by your comments on the democracy of the Turks, you are clearly very ignorant yourself....

Then be prepared to for another long wait in the political wilderness - and when you do wake up to reality (unlike VP's warped sense of it)...then you might get some answers to issues such as why the world does not take your demands for so-called 'human rights' seriosuly.

and judging by your comments on the democracy of the Turks, you are clearly very ignorant yourself....

So Turkey does not censor people who speak out of line by charging them with 'insulting Turkishness' - or even better just hiring a hitman to kill them???

oh right it was Turkey who killed the man, how couldnt have anyone see that! a 17 year old hitman! surely they could have done a much better job, but then if you want to see conspiracy then u will see it in everything...

if you mean Pamuk then i believe he was not only guilty of making false accusations about the number of Armenians and Kurds killed during the war but he also insulted Ataturk, and to be honest that wont go down very well at all...

I tried to remain silent for a while, but you guys just don't want to drop it.

So, I and Birkibrisli want to have a united Cyprus where we can all live as Cypriots. Where is the crime in that.? How does that discredit any TC or mainland Turks.? Just because group of people on this forum would like things to remain as it is, for what ever reasons. The fact that you all have PARTITION so fixed on the brain, I can only presume, that you have a lot to gain from it, and a lot to lose, if a United Cyprus was to emerge. I do not have anything to gain from "Cyprus" becoming One Cyprus, rather than this "Micky Mouse" arrangement that we have now. Why is it, that only those who want PARTITION, should only have their voices heard.? What are you afraid of, if I speak of Cyprus for all Cypriots. VP was OK, until I mentioned that I will be visiting the RoC on my up coming visit in April. He started shitting bricks for God sake. Have you all become such RASICTS towards your other fellow citizens in Cyprus, that any contact must be forbidden.

I have already gave my reasons for a United Cyprus, how it would benefit all Cypriots, specially the TC's , what's left of them , in the "Micky Mouse State". But from what I got from all the PARTITIONIST is, they don't want things to get better for the average TC's, because the PARTITIONIST have already got theirs, and the rest are there to serve them as "TC Niggers". Don't tell me about this BS about Brotherly Turks against the evil Greeks, because I have seen what Turks do to each other, when it comes to money. So the question that needs to be asked is, is not what Birkibrisli and I have to gain by being "ass kissers" to the GC's, as mrfromng put it, but rather, what do the PARTITIONIST stand to lose, in a United Cyprus.

I wished VP did not bring down his Avatar, because a while back, he asked the forum members as to what it meant to have bunch of guys standing together. I believe Pyropolizer said, "oh, that's bunch of guy looking for a job", which was amusing at the time. But no, VP told us, "it was the TC's standing together and speaking with one voice", or some stupid remark like that. Well, VP was partially correct. What it was was, mass of PARTITIONIST debating the issues of the PARTITION. So people like Zan, Shahmaran, Viewpoint, Mrfromng, and few others, that will come along soon, I'm certain of that, were having a Mass Debate about PARTITION. So, I have crerated an exclusive club for all the PARTITIONIST on this forum. From now on, I will refer to you all as the "MassDebaters".

That is correct, it is one word. You are now all, MASSDEBATERS.

Kikapu i think you are using both the terms Partition and Unification in a very bold way, they could vary within themselves according to how they have been executed, which will compleatly change their outcome, even for you. So basically in the case of a unified Cyprus, even you migth find yourself in a very unwanted situation (but you probably wont, since you are so keen on RoC), however to only speak for my self, yes i rather stay as we are, FOR NOW, and not unite in the sense that we should get back to the hegemonic days before the division, which is funny enough, its why most TCs rather live as they are now and not as they were before, that must be quite an insult to the "brotherhood of Cyprus" but unfortunately that is the main view through out the people in the TRNC.
I also believe that you seem to forget the fact that, altho we have been living in a "mickey mouse state" for the past 30 years or so, this is where we have been LIVING, and it has become the nationality of a lot of TCs, its my nationality and no one can change this FOR me! You, as someone who has been away for so long might think differently, but unfortunately WE as the people who have been living the TRNC for so long dont think like you do...

ps. yes, i am talking for a lot of people here, but im confident that in my own experience of living there, this is the overall thought on the situation.

Shahmaran,

Perhaps I should remind you, that your Nationality is Cypriot, unless you happen to hold another one, that has issued you a passport. "TRNC" tells you, that you're her National, but have they given you a "TRNC" passport, and I'm not talking about a "Micky Mouse" ID card. You have said in the past that you have done some travelling. If you don't hold a passport from the RoC, how can you travel anywhere, except for Turkey. Even if you held a Passport issued by Turkey, there is a good chance, getting a visa to travel abroad would be very difficult. So, what other Nationality Passports do you hold, to be able to travel, because it is not from nation of "TRNC", that considers you ( and me ) as it's National.

The above comment reveals more about your own mentality and understanding than anything else snake.

Some of us have lived through the 50s and 60s in Cyprus, and were exiled before 1974,and lived for over or nearly 40 years abroad often intimately with Turks from Turkey, and came to the conclusion that we were Cypriots above all and very different to our Turkish cousins.

Others who were born in the North after 1974,lived under military rule with handouts from Turkey, and forced to share their open prison with the misfortunate, economic migrants from Turkey, came to the conclusion that they were exactly like their poor unfortunate Turkish cousins.

Which of us would you say were "diluted" or "deluded" or "delusional"???

Don't worry about being called a "traitor"' Kikapu. Carry it like a badge of courage and honour. You will be in good company. :D

What you desperately need is an injection of reality in your viewpoint, come live on the island for a few years and then you will realize how far off the mark you are. Your mind has become diluted over the years and can only see what it wants to see. You really need to listen to the young generation TC and GC they do not agree with you one bit.

I am personally aware of tens of TC people that currently live in the north, who have the similar views like Birk and Kikabu. Yet, the only "argument" I hear against what the two of them say, is the fact that they do not live in Cyprus. In the absence of any other credible arguments against their views, the only thing left to discredit them is to present them as clueless individuals, just because they do not live in Cyprus. How pathetic!

You need to go back and read the posts to see we have argued their utopian and very unrealistic ideals, unattainable for many reason which we have put forward and argued back and forth. Obviously you have not been keeping up with us.
