no wonder we dont aggree on anything, we live in 2 totally different times : /

Actually, you have got it wrong again. :!:

I actually expected it, to chance for the better by now. :!: :!:

that was before i read your story, just came up in another thread about you asking for help.

great piece of writing by the way, reminds me of my uncle who used to tell me the storied of thoose days in exact same way, he was from nicosia and a mucahid, i must admit i assumed you were living abroad but didnt think u were around back then as your posts make u sound younger :)

Thanks for reading it Shahmaran, and thanks for the compliment on the story. I remember people like your uncle "mucahid" with their guns, taking turns, guarding the "green line". My mother would cook for them all day long. The women did the best they could, to feed these men.

I'm a 51 year old guy, but if you saw me, you would never bet money on my age, to be 51. :!:

I'm not bragging, well maybe a little bit. I just don't want you to place your money on a loosing bet.

Shahmaran Kikapu prefers to reside with his GC brothers in the south and just visit the north that's how diluted he has become over the years. He is of course free to do what ever he wishes but this act alone displays where his allegiance lies and why he peddles, the we are all Cypriots idealism, that will solve all our problems and keep us safe and not reduced to second class people. If TCs are foolish enough to make this grave mistake and acts of violence and discrimination start to infiltrate our community where do you think people like Kikapu will be? thousands and thousands of miles away tucked safely in a foreign land watching from a far, not feeling any remorse for pushing his own community over the edge into "Cypriotism" GC style where it will be majority rule a GC state run by GCs for GCs not TCs.

I've been travelling the world for the past year,i've been to many places, met alot of people and believe me people always ask me where i'm from, because of my dark skin and mediterranean looks they automatically know that i am not english when i say i live in england.so obviously i have to mention that i was born in cyprus which makes me cypriot.if they ask me if im greek i correct them and say that i am from the north which makes me a ''turkish'' cypriot. and every now and again people who know about cyprus ask me if im greek or turkish, and i say that i am neither from greece or turkey.

me personally i think that i am 100% cypriot.i was born there,i lived there,i went to school there, i even done 2 years national service there.
and most of all i love the cyprus culture and traditions.i will fight for my identity to the very end.

dont forget that when modern turkey was formed we were still in cyprus and have been there since 1541 so if anything i would like to say that i originate from the ottomans.

and before i sign off you said also said that 'ouzo is for girls'.i don't like ouzo either but my dad likes a few glasses of 'keo ouzo' every now and again and trust me my dad is no girl.me personaly i like to drink 'zivaniya'.now thats a mans drink and its 1000% cypriot.

have a good day all im off to the the beach( im in vietnam at the moment ) 8)

I don't asked to be liked by anyone. I tell it the way I see thing, and let the chips fall as they may. I always try to see each situation from not only from my point of view, but also from the others. Try to put myself in the shoes of others , and see if I would like it or not. It is only then, one would get a clearer picture of any given situation.

I will be spending a close to a week in the "TRNC", when I do visit in April. Why wouldn't I, still part of my country. I might even come back and do some "military service", to be part of the "Dad's Army".

I look forward having a constructive dialog with you in the future, and avoid getting into mud swinging match.!

You will learn nothing in just 1 week and living in the south, you should stay longer and mix with the people from both sides, especially those GCs from the southern side who are not refugees and who have benefited form division, the young brainwashed GC youth who go around bashing TC students, visit the wall of shame and have time to listen to local GC and TC politicians, live the Cyprus reality.

Ahh, the Doom & Gloom guy has spoken again, but as usual, not giving the full picture for you all to see. I will be visiting both sides. Since one side is larger than the other, will require more time to see, than the other.

Many leaders have used the "Fear tactics" against their people , so that they can hold on to power and privileged lifestyle, over the good of their people. President Bush have done this over and over again, with the war in Iraq,"If we don't fight them over there, we will be fighting them over here at home", or the "Mushroom Cloud" in New York. If you say it long enough, it has proven, that people buy into it. Sorry VP, I'm immune from such tactics, and I can see through the smoke screen, and I can see it through yours. Perhaps you can scare the crap out of your kids and the gullible, but don't waste your time with me with all your Doom & Gloom stories. If you had more balanced view of the whole situation, you will earn more respect from me.
