That's true, but that's the result of the Turkish invasion and the forming of the "TRNC", that set the two peoples apart but failed to gain recognition for the Turkish Cypriots, leaving the Greek Cypriots as the only representatives of the Cypriot nation in the eyes of the rest of the world. Now that Turkey has realised that a permanent partition is neither possible nor in her interest, the TCs have to change that reality. I know it's a difficult task, but it's the only way to go in my opinion.

Well not liking ouzo does not make you a non-Greek, I don't like it either, although I believe it's too much even for girls

i hate ouzo, i may as well stick my fingers down my throat instead :)

I still like an idea that i saw on here a while back, if you think you're greek, go to greece, if you think you're turkish, go to turkey, if you think you're cypriot then cyprus is your home.

Basically what you are saying is that if i want to sound "legal" then i should be supporting the side that tried to exterminate my ethnicity very recently and i should just deal with the other details it in my own time?

This is exactly why i dont say im Turkish nor im Cypriot, but im from North Cyprus, the UN does not make me feel like im a part of you, so i dont care what they say about me, im from TRNC! u cant just stick nationalities on people through politics, or maybe u can but its just plain wrong! my god i felt like a Kurd there for a moment....

shahmaran you have every right to feel the way you do I was born pre 1974 but have lived mostly in the TRNC and I to feel more Turkish Cypriot than Cypriot. Your were born in the TRNC and should be proud of your country recognized or not. The "RoC" has never represented TCs and it looks like it will never have that opportunity, its a GC state run by GCs for GCs..no more no less. We are the generation of the TRNC and it is up to us to represent Turkish Cypriots all over the world and every platform so that everyone can now hear the other side of the story and decide for themselves the rights and wrongs of why we are still isolated in 2007.

Isn't that racism? Anyway, "eracles" sounds very greek to me. People can feel Greek or Turkish and still be Cypriots, who has the right to tell them to leave because of that?

I do like it, but i just think its a toned down version of Raki, thats why its for girls ;)

VP thats exactly my point, the GCs have done everything over the years to portrai us as the occupiers and the people living illegally outside of real "Cyprus", and now they wants us to join them into what is a VERY Greek state, they see it as unification, but its more like a ticket back to the hegemonic days prior to 74...not the most attractive option i must say.

I wonder if 200 thousand Cypriots who were were born in what you call your exclusive country , but can not return , have anything to do with the prevailing isolation.

I believe the isolation is just an extention of Enosis, but obviously its so much convenient to insist on it being a punishment for the invader Turks.

Therefore maybe we will achieve more if we stick to the real causes rather than the immediate results..

No you've lost it completely. You have 40,000 Turkish Troops occupying the north of a sovereign country, you proclaim a break away republic against international law, and then claim the isolation is an extension of something which has never happened, unless you meant the virtual union of turkey and northern cyprus. What a load of rubbish. Now...go and get a job :P
