You obviously have read very few books on western world civilization ,are you not perhaps confusing the writer's aim in publishing these very naive and primitive ideas by a medieval Polynesian "philosopher "
As for your comments on WW1 , well just suppose that I was in front of this philosopher and tried to explain that thousands of people are killed every year on our roads , lets have no cars , trains and airplane crushes cause the death of so many , and let us abolish ownership each man to his own , let us carry a spear to search for food since money is abhorrent to these civilized people , and if we run out of food no problem we can feast on the elderly , women first.
You have failed to grasp the authors message in this book , and so did the other admirer of this wonderful culture.

miltiades, you have failed to understand the significance of what you have 'supposedly' read and if I may say so, you have failed miserably Sir.

I think it is a great pity that you were unable to recognise the value of the author's perception of our civilisation, since it presented you with an opportunity to redeem yourself.

Almost ALL of your contributions to ANY debate contain some form of rebuff to the proposer, I consider that to be a very sad indictment of your ability to establish yourself as an informed 'elder' to those younger members who may be seeking some advancement to their own knowledge, particularly in world affairs.

I am personally very disappointed with the outcome of our several exchanges for I have learned NOTHING from you Sir, I am even more disappointed, having taken the time to look through some of your past posts (hence my comment above) I think such a testimonial should shame you, I doubt if it will, you appear to be transfixed with your reflected Ego Sir. :( :( :( :( :(
