It tells me we have democracy where words and only words (not bombs) are getting fired. In fact I saw whole holocausts of such wars of words in RoC.
Guess what, the next day I looked outside the window nothing was burned.

VP I agree with both your comments, we are a small fish in this bloody huge Ocean and the people also could bring down the wall.T
Zan, I think that the new law is Fucked. I DO NOT agree of the sale of Turkish Speaking Cypriot owned property in the south as much as I DO NOT agree of the sale of GSC property in the north. Not a peaceful gesture either, in the process towards reunification.

I personally believe that the RoC ought to encourage TSC's to re-claim their properties so long as they are not double dipping (by occupying or using GSC property in the north).

If you want a united Cyprus then you have got to accept T/Cs in the deal. Our problem is with Turkey and T/C nationalists not the majority of T/Cs. We must talk to them, not abuse them in this forum. The longer this problem exists the more likely we will end up with partition. Someone has got to make the first move and I'm afraid it won't be Bully-boy Turkey. Let's show the other side, the EU and UN that we are not petulant children and take the bloody wall down before it is too late.

Agreed. So why won't Papadopolous take up Talat's offer to talk? Could it be that he's the biggest partitionist on the block now that Denktas has been voted out of office by the TCs?

If the conditions are right I think he could be, see my recent post in the other topic

I agree that Papadopoulos needs to begin negotiations wth Talat. You can still have negotiations without recognising the TRNC but the fact remains there is a leader in the North and who needs to be involved in negotiations. Infact it may be more condusive to negotiate with Talat who may find allies within the RoC as opposed to Turkey.

Could the compulsory buying up of the land be a way of getting rid of the biggest obstacle, that of the refugees? The Annan plan would look much better that way with much less of a cost to both sides???????

This is not a proposal made by me VP. Apparently the RoC are passing a law that gives you no choice in the matter and probably will give you no choice in the price. It is in the Hurriyet, on line.
