I have been asked to point out that the sponsors of the petition to the UK PM at
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/cyprus regret that anyone should take offense to the reference to the "illegal settlers". This petition does not seek to emulate the fascist and ugly policies of the British National Party but to seek a legal redress of Turkey's illegal action in demographic manipulation.
It remains the case that no matter how unpalatable the issue of the settlers is, it remains of concern to many and therefore is an issue that must be faced.
There is also a good chance that the petition will not be presented to Tony Blair but to whosoever replaces him as UK PM in the Summer.
