Apple Macs in Cyprus

Postby Niki » Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:41 pm

We have to work on Mac rather than PC. Are there are many Mac suppliers on the Island?

I know there is one in Nicosia - are there any others?

Thanks

A question for all the Computer brains out there.

Last week, I down loaded the up-dated version of the "Windows Internet Explorer" to the computer. Then I ran the Virus scan on the "hard drive" because things were not working properly. So far so good. Everything was working fine, except....Then I used the Cyprus-Forum, to write some "dribble" to all you members to read, and pressed on the "Spell Check" to see a window pop up saying " An error was encountered on the server. Please try again later". That was a week ago, and still, I get the same window, each time I press "Spell Check" now.

1. What's seems to be the problem.?
2. How can I fix the problem?
3. Keep repair instructions simple. I'm not a computer man.
4 Thanks.

You have blinded me with your technical terms here - what's a .357 or am I being really thick?

I do know Macs have a lot less problems than PC's and have far fewer virus's so... I know - get a Mac!!! The new Intel versions can be either started up as Macs or PC's - apparently.

OH, let me tell you Niki2410.

.357 does not blind people, it kills them. It is a Magnum, Smith & Wesson hand gun revolver, a little smaller than the one Clint Eastwood used in "Dirty Harry".

That one was a Magnum .44....you remember the part in "Dirty Harry" when it tells the guy " Goooo Aheeeaaad, Maake Myyy Dayyy."

Or the other one ....

" I know what you thinking, did he fire 5 (bullets) or 6.? Well to tell you the truth, with all this excitment, I've lost count myself. You got to ask yourself a question. Do I feel luck.?...... Well, do ya Punk".

Does all this ring a bell?

Ahh - get it now! Yet again the creative mind excels in it's lateral thinking.

Was it you that quoted a passage from "The treasure of the Sierra Madre"?

If it was you certainly know your films because I have never known any one that knows what I am talking about when I say "Badges! We don't need no stinking badges".
