Turkish Speaking Cypriots are a minority in the North

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Mon Jan 15, 2007 11:15 am

That's because you live in England.

In the rest of Europe the question is "where is Cyprus"? Oh, I found it on the map, at South Turkey.

And in the USA the question is:

In what state of the United States is Cyprus?

Here's a better one in the USA.
Oh, I ve been there it is near Guatemala. Do you have electricity at home in Cyprus. Running water?

But I already told you. We don’t agree for you to keep our homes and lands. Why do you keep on holding them? We already have agreed that you get yours back.

Zan, I hear what your saying ....... and probably very little at this stage as Turkish Cypriot's are kinda the enemy really. However abroad where I live people usually say where your from and I say Cyprus and they say Greek or Turksih and I reply Greek Speaking. So people are aware of the two communities. I guess when we all Unite and we all learn to speak all three languages we will claim back Cyprus. Yeaheeee!!! Ishala (i think that kinda means amen) when will that day come?

The way you go i.e apply ONLY the things we agree on a level playing field, is actually THE CURRENT SITUATION.
Level playing field assumes that each side applies the SAME things either it agrees OR not.
You cannot change the rules all the time.
Every time I tried to talk this matter with you you CHANGED the rules!!!

Ok so you keep ours and we keep yours until we can solve that problem. What about the rest? direct flights, postal address, sporting events, cultural events, representation etc, these are all achievable but blocked by your leaders. If steps were taken to eliminate these issues then both sides would be more flexible with regards to ROR.

See you changed the rules once again.

"We keep yours and you keep ours" is the CURRENT SITUATION.
If you want the rule to apply then it must apply for EVERYTHING.
So the answer to your question about the direct flights and all other things you mentioned is:
We keep yours and you keep ours

Happy now?

So what you are saying is that unless we solve the property issue first we will not solve anything else? Typical GC mentality remove the flags, remove the birds, remove the dust and we will then think about it.... any excuse

Zany you are becoming more and more the disturbing mosquito of the discussions. Go were you belong man.

@VP:
No, what I said is if you are going to set up a rule for a level playing field, then this rule must be the same FOR ALL ISSUES. You cannot apply it on one issue and reverse it on another.

The rule must not be deprivatory of anyones rights. And it must apply for all issues not the issues that both agree. ON ALL ISSUES, SAME RULE, NOT DEPRIVATORY OF ANYONES RIGHTS

We agree that property rights for both communites will be granted but this issue is more complex and can cause national mayhem. The issue of flights and postal addresses etc are issues which you restrict and is one sided, these can be resolved easily and without direct contact which may cause conflict such as property. Yorgos tells Hasan to get off his property Hasan says no and a fight occurs, there has ot be clear cut guidelines to ensure we do not cause more hardship than is necessary.
