Papadopoulos: Ankara isn't really tyring for a Cyprus deal before its EU talks begin
28/12/2004

Speaking to Greek Cypriot daily Haravgi yesterday, Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos claimed that Ankara wasn't willing to reach a Cyprus resolution before Oct. 3, 2005, when it is scheduled to begin its European Union accession talks. "Turkey wants a resolution in order to find a way to avoid its obligation to recognize Greek Cyprus," he added.

One must ask to Tassos why he still hasn't put forward what he wants in order to test Turkey whether she is really trying for a Cyprus deal or not? I tell you why... He expects EU to wound and pressurize Turkey in favour of what he wants. Where does Tassos takes the encouragement? It's not hard to guess: The Christian Democrats of EU of course...

This meaningless international strife, surely have been dragging us into a new world war and T-Pap is one of the main actor of this game.

No, we are already better off as we KNOW who tassos is, terrorist turned leader.

So if there was 1000 or 100000 chances of 'veto' we EXPECT it from him anyway. PERIOD

you mayt expect it but will turkey and in particular the AKP in power accept it.there are already rumors swirling that erdogan and the turkish foreign office are "feverently"working on a alternative plan to represent to the eu for a solution to the island's problem.also today the turkish security council is meeting to discus various issues with emphasis however being on cyprus.AKP'S claim to fame was it would deliver turkey into the EU,erdogan got the message when he made the statment that you would rather have 700,000 g/c in the eu than 70,000,000 turks, all it did in brussels was by him time to figure out what to do with cyprus, the nationalist and the army were waiting back in turkey with a noose, erdogan will have to deal on both very soon.

The E.U is not the end all and personally i think they would be better off crating a union/alliance/partnership whatever you want to call it with U.S and israel.

Also what makes you think you can keep blackmailing or holding the E.U to ransom.

THAT WILL NOT LAST.
