How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I believe that if any of the above circumstance is the case then your are Cypriot. No percentage attached.

You can't be Cypriot when you are more something else. To be Cypriot you have to be more than 50% Cypriot! Otherwise you are something and a bit Cypriot.

It seems you can be many things and still be a Cypriot hey! Bananiot  .

You can be a;

traitor
idiot
discrace
servant of the Angloamericans

What a pointless and xenophobic thread. You are what you are and where you live is your choice. European, I think they call it....................

Cypriots are those that have the Cypriot citizenship.

Some others that are eligible for the citizenship can also be considered as Cypriots if they want.

Unless you are Greek Cypriot and want to live in northern Cyprus of course.
But in all seriousness we are increasingly living in a world where nationality is beginning to mean less and less. I am hoping that soon we will simply regard each other as human beings. Of course for the time being we must have a limit to the people we call Cypriot, I don't think that is xenophobic as such but we must be careful not to nurture the kind of 'them and us' xenophobia that is rife in many countries.

If I understand the word's makeup correctly it's the phobia not the xeno that makes it unpleasant.

I think you are what you feel you are...
I was born in Cyprus to TC parents but lived in Australia for 38 years.
But I feel 100% Cypriot, though I only lived in Cyprus for 18 years...
I have Australian citizenship but I don't feel Australian at all.
Australia is my country of residence.Funny all that...

So sorry my friend for the sarcasm your about to get but you remind my of university students who sit on their butts all day. If you take the example the definition of a Greek. "What is a Greek person?" And the answer of course is " someone who was brought up the Greek way" Now based on that you make your mind as to who is who and what and you will find that is very simple but also in explainable. So trying to put percentages on people is like thinking as a computer would. Thanks Sotos
By the way i like your views in general
