Are health insurance policies a rip off??

Postby joanna » Fri Jan 05, 2007 5:03 pm

Im trying to get health insurance in Cyprus, ive tried a couple of companies, but the problem is its for our whole office, and i need a plan that gives a good amomunt for pregnancies to cover some of the cost of the clinic. Please tell me if you think they are a rip off?? does anyone know of or had experience with an insurance company who has had a payout for pregnancy?. If so how much and how long did it take to get money out of the tight arsed gits? Please help

Well we use the company plan at Bupa.

Maternity cover (after 10 months membership) - Pay up to 3,000 GBP/year

My family have been using them for years and they pay very promptly, although i never got pregnant :-)

Got cover with AXA PPP and they pay out for pregnancy care...

their claims are normally settled very very quickly in my experience of claiming money back, and they pay in cyp£ direct to bank account

:D

That sounds an excellent deal G.man, but usualy with any type of insurance policy you only get what you pay for.......and sometimes not even that, when you read the small print,as i have just found out with my bloody van insurance company........you know the one that likes to quote you happy.......Norwich Union (NOT)

I will agree with that, Axa PPP is not cheap, thankfully its company expensed...

:D

PS. when you come to cyprus, make sure you take your car insurance through hellenic/pancyprian

They are the best for payouts/service..

All Insurance companies are a rip off....... personally i don't believe in private health insurance I feel the state needs top have a good comprehensive cover for all.

When you take your car over to Cyprus when you move, do you get insurance cover with your current insurer in the UK to start with or set up insurance with an insurer in Cyprus for when you get there?

I don't know if that question made sense!
