Those Gcs that cross to the north are labelled traitors by their own people and are warned not to spend money here in fear of supporting the TRNC economy. .

So, which is it Viewpoint, do you think these people are traitors or not, because I get the feeling, I'm going to be labelled the same pretty soon.

Thats how the GC view their own people, tells you a lot about their mentality and I never labelled you anything I said its your choice and your conscience.

I don't think this thread should have the CYprob brought into it, its your holiday and you should be able to go where you want , without being led on a guilt trip.

That's a sweeping generalisation isn't it? Not saying that doesn't happen but I'm a GC and I have yet to meet a GC who has labelled me a traitor for visiting the north for a holiday or critisiced me for spending money there. I have lived in the UK for a number of years and visit Cyprus at least twice a year and so I'm sure I would have copped some slack by now for visiting the north. It's true that many GCs choose not to spend much money in the north but very few I know have got away without spending something and I have never met anyone who has criticised me for visiting the north for a holiday and spending my money there. And by the way I had a great time in the north when I visited. Anyway, I wish people would stop politicising border crossing, it's the first good thing to happen to Cyprus for a long long time imo.

Well, in that case, lets hope, that the TC's mentality is much healthier.!!

All of a sudden, 2 weeks in Iraq, is becoming more appealing, than going to Cyprus.

Can you for just one minute imagine what people like Kifeas and Piratis would say to a GC coming to stay and holiday in the north, man they would blow him to pieces within seconds in the most degrading fashion.

i can agree with that one, unfortunately, kikapu....as i will be traveling alone, i have heard enough BS on this forum to know there are alot of people that will not be welcoming me for a visit. talk about embassadors of a country!

Thank God for small favours, that Viewpoint is not anything like Piratis and Kifeas.
