if you have the time would you be interested to meet at some point (in the next couple of months ) . i am not that far away from the swiss border..

Sure Cypezokyli. I'm near Zürich, where are you in Germany, to get some idea which would be the closest crossing point. Most of the crossing points are 45 minutes to 1 hour from where I am. We can meet along the border, German or the Swiss side.

i am in tübigen.
i thought freiburg would be a general mid-point....but surprusungly it takes me as much time to come to freiburg as it does to come to zürich !

a 3 hours journey is not that much....it is a time span that it is offered for a one-day trip. since i was never in switzerland, i could even come to zürich

dann musst aber die Rolle des Reiseführers übernehmen 8)

 Glad not everyone thinks like this, or I'd be out of a job!! ;)

Sorry Miltiades, I don't do Mobiles.!!

What I mean is, I have never owned a mobile phone and I also do not like to use them, hence not getting one thus far. I can count on my hand the number of times that I could have REALLY used one, otherwise it is the home phone or pay phone with a calling card.

I can't believe the number of people spend so much time on their Mobiles, that we are forced to listen to their stupid conversations. Those that need it for business, fair enough, but for the remaining 99.9%, they are just causing "noise pollution".

I should be in the TRNC in the first week, and the ROC, in the second. We'll talk closer to time of departure, to see how things are going with your time.

Stick to your guns,Kikapu...Even if you and I are the only people in the universe without mobiles,we will be in good company!
And if you are going to do your military service in the TRNC,let me know so I can sign up for the same period. They won't know what hit them if we are there together. And I am older than you are... :D

Ps.It'd have to be Grandad's Army,I believe...

PPs.Can we get miltiades to join us as an honourary TRNC citizen? :)

I will be honoured to serve with such senior citizens such as Kikapu and Birkibrisly on one condition. Red wine in winter white in the summer and beer in between since Im diabetic I would need time off to fight the sugar concentration in the body.

I was thinking the last couple of days, of doing something a little out of the ordinary, while I'm visiting my Birth Country of Cyprus, so once again, I will need your help.

In 1977, during the Queens Jubilee, I had a chance to talk with her for a very brief moment, as she and the rest of her family were walking outside the walls of Windsor Castle.

In 1982, I had a brief conversation with Elton John at San Francisco airport , before he was knighted "Sir".

In 1992, I had a long conversation with Elvis, in Las Vegas.??? OK, so he was only a Elvis impersonator, but felt real at the time.

In April this year, it will be 43 years, since leaving Cyprus, and never to have returned, thanks to the Cyprus Conflict. I may be one of very few people who have been gone from Cyprus that long, because of the conflicts, so I really feel like, someone should hear some of my complaints, so the two people that came to my mind are:

President Papadopoulos of the RoC and President Talat of TRNC. I think these two leaders owe me , as a citizen of Cyprus, some explanation, as to why my country has not returned to being "normal" yet.

I will need from you, particularly from Lana, Kifeas, Viewpoint, Sotos, Reportfromcyprus and others, an accurate addresses, so that I can send them a letter or a email, asking them to meet with me while I'm visiting the island in April. If they are not COWARDS as to meet with me, and they will agree to it, I will ask you again later, for your inputs.

Let's see which one of the two leaders will use their heads , to invite me to meet with them first. There may be some "Political Mileage" to be gained here.

So please, I need those addresses to these leaders.

Thanks.
