I tried this few days ago in fact, and was lost already. I need to ask my mother, to give me some street names, as to where we lived exactly.

If all of RoC is reachable within 90 minutes by car from Limmasol, perhaps it would make sense to rent a one bedroom apartment there, and not deal with the hotels at all. Any ideas on a good agency in Limmasol for rentals.?

You don't need an agency. Just go here: http://www.cyprusapartments.com/ use the search at the bottom to search for apts in Limassol and CALL them, not email.

sotos, i am curious, as i too am planning a vist. why do you say CALL them as opposed to email?

I know this may not be politacally correct to stay in the RoC, for being a TC, given the political situation there, but I have to stress this point, that Cyprus is the country that I was born in, and Cyprus remains my home. The division took place 10 years after I left Cyprus, and the only unpleasant memories I have, was in 1963-64 era. I can't throw away 2/3 rds of Cyprus away from my life, because of politics. I want to feel, that 100% of Cyprus is my country and home. Besides, mum has bunch of deeds on small plots of land in the RoC, which needs to be looked into. Time permitting,
I would also like to come to the North, once I sort out some matters of concerns there, before coming. You know what I'm talking about.!

You will feel just that a foreigner in your own land in the south, when we visit the south is no different from Spain or France you to will sense this, aren't you getting priorities mixed up? how many GCs would what you are doing? why not stay in the north and travel to the south for gods sake support your own community first, have you become that foreign? but of course the choice is yours and left to your own conscience.

At this point, they are not for sale. I don't even know just yet, all the legal ramifications, concerning the land, so that's why I need to do some sorting out. I'll PM you later on, to see if you can be of any help. Thanks.

Viewpoint, lay off the guilt trip. As soon as I can sort out certain issues in the North, I plan to be there also, but I need to sort out some issues in the South also, both legal and personal.

I have not lived in Cyprus for 43 years or 80% of my life, so yes, I'm foreign to my Birth Country, wheather it's in the North or the South.

The choice is totally yours but obviously your loyalties lie with the GC south, need I remind you that your community are in the north and are trying to maintain their dignity against GC propaganda and international support, if you are happy to support those who want to keep us isolated from the world and maintain their charade to representing the TCs, then feel free you butter their bread and are blind to the fact. Just ask yourself how many GCs would do what you are doing?
