bg turks continue to be denied freedom of movement

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

bg turks continue to be denied freedom of movement

Postby bg_turk » Wed Jan 03, 2007 5:14 pm

The Greek Cypriot administration continues to prevent Bulgarian Turks in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, now full fledged EU citizens, from crossing the border, and violates our fundamental EU right of freedom of movement. If the Papadopolous government fails to meet EU regulations for freedom of movement, his government may soon have to face us in court at the ECHR.

I back ROC government on this. You can fly to SOFIA and then get to CYprus via Larnaca Airport as other people do.

They could be allowed to cross, but then they would have to be arrested for the illegalities they have committed in RoC while hiding behind the Turkish army.

Freedom of movement yes. Freedom to commit crimes and illegalities no.

Piratis,
Why are you not arresting British Citizens and TC's who live in the North when they cross to the south? They are committing illegal acts are they not? Surely you must be consistent in the application of your laws or they are meaningless. Or is it that the ROC is too scared to open that particular can of worms. I will volunteer myself to be arrested by the ROC next time I am in Cyprus and when I cross over to the south having flown into Ercan-I bet they wouldnt dare arrest me.

Have the entered from a legal port? No. Did they have permission to live in Cyprus for all these years? No.

Just 2 examples of illegalities committed by these people without even looking at each one of them. f we do I am sure we will find many more illegalities committed by most of them since the reason they went to the occupied areas (and not to Turkey for example) was to exploit our properties and land. Surely now they can't expect RoC to treated them as if nothing has happened.
