Then why are you still insisting against their judgements with Cyprus and think Turkeys laws supercedes the EU's. By what your saying, Turkeys laws supercedes the world.

A Paphian is not a fool ???

Birk , my " horianos " , I propose you as the first President of the Paphian Republic , those who want to challenge my proposal let them "patison me akouson the " ( Attack me but obey me first >>)
I will be happy in the role of Minister without portfolio !!!

Honestly thought that part of Paphos is beautiful and you are missing a great deal ! Try and visit , it is indeed such a pleasurable part of Cyprus.

Bir is fine for president, I beleive he would outscore Makarios who usually was geting 97%.

But Miltiades "ANIR PAPHIOS OUK ESTIN AGATHOS" doesn't mean what you said.
It means every Paphian is a bad person. It was told by Apostle Paul, who went there to teach them Christianity and the Paphians got mad and whipped him "saranta para mia" forty minus 1 whips.

Poor Apostle.

Pyrpolizer , thanks for that but in to days terminology someone bearing the description " agathos " loosely translated means simple , harmless and most recipients of such description would find it uncomplimentary .
This is how I based my interpretation , but I accept Apostle Paul was describing the virtues of a Paphian.

But that's what it meant in ancient Greek too. You forgot the OUK though which makes it negative. Not simple, not harmless. In other words bad. (You are right though in modern greek it means not a fool)
Hey Miltiades the poor Apostle came to teach you Christianity and you crazy Paphians gave give a nice lesson of 39 whips.
How could he ever forget?

Actually it was 3 strokes but each stroke had 13 whips.
He shouldn't complain so much it was only 3 strokes after all.

As I recall , he was sentenced to 40 lashes - saranta para mia - since the crowd were keeping a count of he lashes administered but no sooner did the get to 39 with one remaining they would disagree as to how many more lashes were required and they, the crafty Paphians , would start again from scratch !

Thank you for your confidence in me,miltiades...
But there are a few other very worthy candidates for President,so we might have to have an election. If I win you can be the Minister for Justice. :D

I know I am missing a lot,but there is also a lot missing from the old days, dear miltiades. I came very close to visiting last year, but my nerves failed me at the last minute.. I might try again later on this year.
