I know you dont hate anybody but unfortunately not everybody has your views. I think you are wrong in thinking that property is not the big issue in the eyes of most GC's- it is the number one concern. Security is important too and with the Annan plan we had a timetable to get rid of all the Turkish troops over time. After all how many Turkish troops went home with the big no-not a single one. The GC's must be comfortable with having 40,000 soldiers in the north-it probably cools the ardour of some of the hotheads from doing anything silly.

I totally agree with this. For me personally the presense of the Turkish army was not really too much of a problem considering the final numbers of only 650 soldiers. It was however an additional issue to fear as the numbers would actually be 40,000 the day after the solution. That was very scaring! But I could swallow it if that was the only problem.
Was it though?

What amuses and dismays me in equal amounts is the pure hatred that GC's like you and Sotos have for Turkey and the Turkish people.

I don't hate Turkish and Turkish Cypriot people!! I hate those that occupy my home and property and the Turkish army. I agree with Piratis. What did you expect? I don't know what happened to you in 64 but that was more than 40 years ago!!! I don't have hate for what Turks did to us in past history either but do you expect me to like those that refuse to me my property and my human rights? And the reason I don't want Turkey in EU is because then all these illegal settlers will be legalized like the Bulgarian ones. Why would I want this to happen? I don't want Turkey in EU and I have very important reason for this. If I am a Turk hater because of this then what do you call all the other Europeans that don't want Turkey in EU and don't even have a very important reason like me?

Imagine the whole Europe doesn't want the Turks from memories they have from as long back as 600 years, when practacally the whole of Europe was trembling with just the hearing of the name "Suleyman the Magnificent". Hearing what he did to the countries he occupied, they were practically holding their breath all winter praying to God that Spring will never come, as there would come this butcher again, and they had no way to defeat him. He himself could slaughter 1000 people within a day, and liked to have 200 cut heads on poles outside his tent.

BULGARISN DENY FRREDOM OF MOVEMENT TO TURKS...(HIRONIC)

Bulgarian officials’ insistence on not allowing Turkish trucks carrying dried food products through stems from misinterpretation of an EU directive, says Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Gücük, who adds that the problem is likely to be sorted out by a letter from Brussels to Sofia

Sotos,
You said :I don't know what happened to you in 64 but that was more than 40 years ago!!
Then shouldnt matter what happened to the GC's in 74 either as that was 30 years ago. Unless ofcourse you believe in one rule for you and a different one for us.
Pyrpolizer: We didnt migrate as a matter of choice for our economic well being we were attacked by our supposed civilised compatriots in the the name of the Helelnic mega idea and had our homes burnt down and driven out at the point of a gun. Yes this was our friends and neighbours not some invading army.

While I sympathise with you dear Issy, this is not the main reason the vast majority of TCs emmigrated in the 60s. If you look at the numbers of emmigration there is not much % difference between the GCs and TCs who went to live abroad during the exact same period.

However each and every TC who today lives abroad says "we left because of the GCs"!! Ain't that strange?

And a significant amount of GCs because of EOKA and the unsettled island caused by the GC insurgence

If you can't put two and two together and insist on propaganda to back up your ridiculous claims then I would give it up.
