Kikapu your spot on again, but the difference is Cypus has woken up to the problem not like Britain and is facing it head on e.g just today Bulgarian and Romainian refuges as i like to call them, now face sanctions implimented to stop their influx into Cyprus, and yes Cyprus does have the weather but i still strongly believe it is safer for me to lay down the tracks for my future in Cyprus with the right investments. P.S the birds now 22 not 20 your making me sound like a cradle snatcher, and she hates sailing !!!!!!!

Mister Duncan MacLeod, here is speaking one of the 'refuges', as you like to call us.
This refugee (that is me) is highly qualified in his area, studying in Bucharest and Munchen. He is legally staying in Cyprus, legally working and producing here for more than 4 years.

He is legally paying rent, utilities ,taxes, fees, car, family, kids and schools and he is respected citizen in his community.
By paying all these, he contributes also to your welfare, so that Mister Duncan not to be too tired, so that mister Duncan can close all activities Wednesday at 14 PM...so that mister Duncan could have time to chase nice russian girls...

Please show more respect to your fellow citizens, don't put everybody in the same alignment...
And be aware that EU is a competitive area, where qualified and trained or smart people are succesfully , where borders are disappearing gradually.
You may find yourself in the near future to have some interests in the 'refugee' country of origin like many smart cypriots are doing...
I hope you are amongst smart ones..

Bulgaria and Romania are "aligned" with US policy...Since US backs turkey, their joining the EU is a really bad news

And this is exactly what is happening in the UK.

Apart from the hundreds of thousands over the last few years of illegals /asylum seekers travelling half way across the world through other countries that could provide asylum to reach "wonderful Great Britain" we now have the legal immigration of eastern Europeans en mass to the UK.

Although some say it's wonderful for our economy what they don't say is that it's killing our country as a whole -- the infrastructure is just not in place to cope with this massive influx .

The UK is sinking under the weight of immigrants -- no wonder there are so many British wanting to leave the island.

The really sad part is that a UK citizen having paid national insurance say for 40 plus years in the UK is not entitled to go back for health care once he has left the country whilst a legal EU immigrant / refugee / asylum seeker landing on UK shores is entitled to everything if not more right from day one.

I wonder if I go back to the UK say in 3 years time if the local council will give me a house -- and furnish it for me -- all for free.

no wonder the illegals in the last few years have singled out the UK as "the place to be" .

I don't blame the people wanting to come to the UK -- BUT i do blame the government in the UK for being so stupid and naive

Now of course the flood gates are open I think the UK will regret not putting some kind of limit or restriction .

Oh what a wonderful place the UK is

Hi! If i were you I will not complain. Here these people work very hard just for few pounds per day which comprising more than 8 hours/day. In their country are highly educated but leave their jobs since are not well paid and come here to do a very low job such as: cleaning, waitress and so on. Jobs that most of you are not doing, not only because of the job but because of the money.
They endure a lot of staying here. I have seen a lot. Most of foreign people are complaining about same things. You don't give a chance to us. You treat us as prostitutes, low level people just because of the others that came here before to make prostitution, stealing etc.
This is happening only here. We don't steal your jobs, because nobody hire us. It is very difficult to find a more decent job. And I am agree to keep the level of employment to Cypriots. This is a rule applied in each country. But why do you think we take your jobs? Are you earning less than 400-500 pounds? Are you working as waiter, electrician..? I don't think so.
Read on the internet, a very young woman (30 yo) died few weeks ago because she worked very hard and did not feed herself enough. I could give you a lot of such stories.

Reading the above is one other reason why I believe perhaps North Cyprus should stay as it is! You think UK was bad with immigrant workers or refugees? Wait until the South is taken over (rightfully as a EU member) by proffessionals and workers from all the other EU countries. The "Greek ID" fanatics in the South will have riots!

Hmmm? I wonder how long before the population will increase to 1.5 million and TCs will be offered just 10% of the island!

I know many Romanians that have better and more suited qualifications (degree wise) and work experience in very good sectors of the job field, compared to a majority of people living on this Island. Not only that, they are hard workers and that should go to show when they will work for pennies. Romanian is misjudged by a lot of people, others still think it’s war torn and poor, like it was over 10 years ago but the country is very fast and up and coming with it’s movements, colleges, tourist life and jobs. I wouldn’t be too quick to judge if all you see is ‘2nd world type people working for peanuts’.

Don't worry Beth the GCs seem no better than the UK on this matter. I see the Eastern Europeans every day and it si a pleasure to work in their homes. They are polite and intelligent and explaining to them how a system works is far easier than trying to explain to a thick Brit with no prospects.

Hello!
People judge you on many other things, but you could discover amazing things if you try to know better that person. By throwing words like: you're comunist, prostitute, housekeeper or to discriminate you because you are not like them. I don;t want to be like them and I am proud to come from Romania. If the situation would be change in the next years, i am going back for good. Even when I was studying , i have been very dissapointed.
I am working in a English company and I am the only romanian person whithin company. I have been amazed to hear from management they look to hire more romanian people because they work very hard. I could smiley now... :D by now, i couldn't!
As well, the other nationalities are the same. I met and I have friends from Poland, Armenia, Syria, Bulgaria, India... and not only this, they are smart too. So judge because of their capabilities, rational thinking, don't misjudge them instead of doing something good to them or spending a great time with them.
We need eachother, and we should support as well, because most of us we are alone and it is not easy at all.
Do you think it is difficult to accomplish such "rationalment"?
