I think it was to do with franchising fees paid by Shakolas Group to Woolworths.

Don't forget that woollies in Cyprus was nothing like the woollies we have in the UK -- it was more like a department store.

I know that my daughter in law was mildly amused when I said I'd take her to Woolworths when she made her first holiday visit to Cyprus ---- she was really shocked when she saw the quality of the shop and remarked that it was like going to Debenhams in the UK -- well someone must have overheard her all those years ago because it's now Debenhams.

That is one of them. There is another one in Nicosia and two in Limassol. I don't know if they have them in other towns also.
