Is it a Holiday today?

Understandably the supermarkets are closed as they've worked their socks off but some government depts aren't answering their phones and some of the smaller shops that were closed over the weekend are also closed..... What's the position on today and why am I still here at my desk???

Why wasn't my drycleaners open

So why did I have to go to work today? :( I wanted to go to a shop but it was closed and there was no traffic in the streets at 6pm. So I guess I was one of the few that worked!!

I worked - which was illegal apparently - the Police in Paphos were going round handing out £500 fines to shops that were open, even though the Banks were open.

Great law - the problem is only the Police know about it, which rather negates its value!

If you worked, you were probably doing so illegally; the least you can do is to give your employer your wages back LOL!

Lana it is IMPOSSIBLE that it was a holiday for everybody except the banks. Only the opposite could be possible ;) Maybe it was a holiday only for shops since most shops were open during the weekend?

Not sure about holiday, but as for one of the first comments about governmnet offices being closed, its hard to tell the difference as they are always impossible to get hold of, either by phone or in person as they always look at you like you are from another plannet!
