Congratulations to Birkibrisli ..... you have been consistent with your posts and your desires for a United Cyprus. For this I thank you very much and wish that more Cypriots will use this forum to join together as brothers and sisters for a United Cyprus without re-hashing all the old stuff we all know the past stuff and have been hearing it for the last 32 years and still separated and with refugee status on both sides of the divide.

Come on people lets unite for our future's sake.

Agree and have also noticed that miltiades always supports a united Cyprus for the Cypriots.

Have always vociferously supported a united Cyprus where there are no majorities or minorities , where political parties embrace politicians of all ethnicities and where the identity of Cyprus is the dominant one , where the two "motherlands " are demoted and put to sleep .

If the Turkish Cypriot brains are like yours, I guess a couple of hours. However I much doubt it as I believe Turkish Cypriots are in general people with high cultural standards and they will never be assimilated by either Greeks or Turks... They need to keep their traditions and celebrate their diversity to the other ethnic communities in Cyprus. Greeks, Armenians, Maronites and Latinos need to do the same. Otherwise the beauty of Cyprus will be forever lost in the ultra neo nationalistic views of Cypriotism.

Racist slogans on Nicosian buildings raise tensions in Cyprus

Radical Southern Cypriot nationalists have written in giant letters "Death to Turks" across some large buildings in Nicosia which can be seen from the Turkish side of the island, from across the Green Line. The signs have, predictably, opened the way to tension between citizens on both sides of the divided island.

Alongside the "Death to Turks" graffiti, there are also statements such as "Axes and fire for the Turkish dogs," and "Greece is the greatest." Members of the Turkish Cypriot authority have reportedly appealed to the United Nations for help in having the offensive slogans removed from the buildings. They have also registered their official protest with the Southern Cypriot authority.

Systematic anti-Turkish hostility is not necessarily a new factor in the Southern Cypriot order; it is well known that the Southern Cypriot national defense army soldiers have carried out training with tee-shirts that read "The best Turk is a dead Turk."

Well , Sir , you are a bloody foreigner anyway.
As far as the "writings on the walls" in Nicosia and Cypriot soldiers depicting slogans on their T-shirts may I say that it is profoundly disgusting and not only should these offensive graffiti be removed but the perpetrators found and punished. It is a disgrace for Cyprus that such obscene writings are permitted to remain on walls .Some of you may remember me telling you that I obliterated such vulgar graffiti the last time I was in Limassol and I swear I shall do so again next time I'm in Cyprus. I sympathise with all those Cypriots that are justifiably offended by such barbaric behaviour.
