The Only Participant Who Walks Their Talk is Birkibrisli ...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Miltiadis thank you for your ongoing support for a United Cyprus. And I agree with your coments on the grafiti issue. The RoC ought to act asap to remove it, I would also like to say that a few nationalistic thugs do not represent the majority of Greek Speaking Cypriots. I would also like to point out that most Greek Speaking Cypriots that I have come accross have positive things to say about the Turkish Speaking Cypriots and coment positively on the relations between each other prior to 1974 and most Greek Speaking Cypriots only appear to have a "beef" with Turkey not Turkish Speaking Cypriots.

I agree with humanist's comments on Birkibrisli. This individual (Birkibrisli) has shown to be a true Cypriot.

I also agree with miltiades about the writings on the walls.

I tell you what is also disgusting.....The breakaway Turkish Cypriot flag carved out on the mountain slopes illuminated for all Greek Cypriots to see....it brings a certain disgust to my face each day i go to work.

Perhaps in a moment of good gesture and peace the RoC will have the grafiti removed immediately, those responsible jailed and Mr Talat give orders for the flag on pentadaktilos taken down.

Talat has given orders for the bridge to be dismantled at Ledra St lets see what your leader will put in the way now. He is so predictable it makes you sick.

8) As a non CYPRIOT (yes strahd one of the english you wish dead) i find the Graffiti extremely offensive and should be painted out immediatley..whoever it refers to turk or Cypriot. i also find the Turkish emblem on the hill offensive too. it is a constant taunt to other Cypriots and also merely inflames peoples anger..both these acts are incitement to racial hatred and as such the perpetrators should be bought to justice.
Perhaps we could ship over CYPRIOTS from both sides to england for a stay amongst the CYPRIOT communities in England and see how they exist side by side in a country that has welcomed them and a population that does not differentiate - then ship them back to their own communities and let then spread the word....
You know the good thing about the Englsh Strahd? they don t know the difference between a "greek" Cypriot and a "Turkish" Cypriot - and they dont care ! most of them just want you to live in harmony like your relatives in the U.K.

BOF those GCs and TCs that live in the UK live under UK laws administered by others, so no one is trying to rule the other and in fact has the opposite effect bringing them closer together as they both share a common denominator which is Cyprus.
Here in Cyprus it has the opposite effect the numerically larger population of GCs want to rule and dominate the whole island reducing us TCs to the status of minority in our own country. This TCs will never accept and prefer to live in isolation forever.

I find this thread really strange. For those that want a united Cyprus, I'm glad you find much to commend Birkibrisli (I do too as he is a very enlightened person), but if we believe in a free and democratic society we have to show a lil more love & respect to a wider range of views?

Variety makes the spice of life, so if you only appreciate views that support your own and dismiss others who disagree, it is neither tolerant nor inclusive (surely an important pre-requisite for a united anything? )

Finally, if Humanist and others can only find one TC on the entire Forum to connect with, then surely the problem is at your end and not with the rest of the TCs? Blimey, how you ever gonna make a united Cyprus happen if you cannot reach out and find common ground with the mass of TCs? Try harder boys! You'll get there one day!...

And for the record, I think other TCs, from mrfrommg to viewpoint, also 'walk the talk' vis-a-vis the solution they want. So more respect (even if you disagree with them) and less divisive talk; not good karma, especially for so called 'humanists'
