How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Wow, fancy equating one comment - "village idiot" - with one that states "the best Turk is a dead Turk"?

Bad enough to read the original comments, but for another person on the Forum to try and rationalise [justify] such wickedness is abhorent. There's no room for incitement to racial hatred or murder anywhere, anytime, period :!: Or don't you (scotseza, growuptcs, Sotos, etc) share such universal values?

I got plenty of anger about the pain the GCs inflicted on my family & bredren but I would never ever react in this way. Attack the sin, not the sinner! Remember, you project who you are and all the world can look in via these Forums to see how each side treats the other. You are responsible for Your actions, no1 else.

My advise scotseza, don't hide, but permanently lose that hatred - that's the quickest way to find a solution. Otherwise that wall ain't never coming down cos no TC wants to live next to a racist/potential murderer...

What can I say?
Cypriots are their own worse enemy.
We learned nothing from the past 50 years it seems.
Still, "A good Turk is a dead Turk" and "You can't make rugs from pigs or friends from Greeks"...

I know we all have deep wounds that is still hurting and bleeding, but unless we come to our senses soon and embrase each other as brothers and sisters,we will run the real risk of losing both our Cypriotness and our humanity.

Rude Gal, that was downright rude to propogate me in any class of the word murder and question my values. I was only pointing out Sotos' behavior, why it was there. I'm not condoning with what Sotos said at all. It's just obvious why hes reacting to what he reads that prevent him from going home. Remember, everyones at home writing this stuff, so time to time when they had a bad day you could see it in their posts. This is the internet, dont act like you never lost your lid. This isn't interaction, theres no mingling here. It's a political forum, so till we mingle then you can't pass judgement on me or anyone, and that goes both ways. Just beware if we do mingle because you just might fall for my charm and come home with me.

Surely I can poke a lil fun or give a little stick for what others write? What's the point of being on a Forum if there's no banter :argue: ?

You little charmer you! Well, the last Greek Cypriot I met through this site (Leonidas from Vermont) was a real gentleman and a total charmer. You have high standards to live up to!

Yes, TCs have their own little nasty phrases, yet given experiences (past & present) it is not hard to see why they have arisen. I wish we could find good reason to smash (peacefully of course, ) both for ever.

Too true, but how bloomin' long will it take? I mean look at European countries post World War II. Within a few years, the Germans, French etc were getting it on for the European Cooperation, with the EEC created by 1957 (a mere 12 years after the end of the war!). The people who suffered under Nazi Germany went through heaps more than Cyprus, as did the Germans when the Allies struck back, yet they HAVE ALL MOVED ON. Why not Cypriots?

Bir, I am tired of making excuses for Cyprus. If in 50 years we cannot sort it out, it is perhaps not meant to be? We cannot continue like this indefinitely...

Birkibrisli & miltiades here is an example of Cypriotism and why it will never come about
If I don't take my home back by the time I am 70 I will just take a gun and kill several Turks. I will know I took my blood back. Better than nothing.

as long as we have people who still feel this way and channel their anger at the other side and not their own leaders who have had 46 years to sort things out then our destiny is to remain divided and as Turkish and Greek Cypriots.

why can't we accept that there is no solution that we can or will commit to as it calls for to many compromises which we are not prepared to concede to, allowing each side to move on their own as 2 separate states where both GCs and TCs can live as minorities if they so wish.

Do we live in a world of justice? The Turks know that the occupation of Cyprus is ILLEGAL but that doesn't bother them. It doesn't bother them that they violate my human rights and that they force me out of my home. I don't think we live in a world of justice. I think we live in a jungle. And I think I have the right to defend my home and my property. The Turks do not allow the laws and the state to protect me they don't care about international law and human rights! So what I have left is my own two hands to protect me and serve justice. And as I said I will take my blood back in the jungle way because this is a jungle world we are living in!!

You really need to channel your anger at your own leaders, your home is there for the taking just consider us as house keepers until a time that your leaders can sincerely sit down and hammer out a deal to allow refugees rights to their properties. One other suggestion is have you applied to the Property commission for restitution or compensation?

My leaders are not those that occupy my home! And you say that my home is there for the taking. Why do you sell our properties to foreigners then? You are fucking thieves! I don't want to deal or talk to thieves. I want you out of my home. Follow the laws and stop being thieves and then I might forgive you!

Your leaders are the only ones who can get your homes back, talk to them and ask them why they are not talking with the other side to get your home back. You have the right to apply to the property commission its your choice if you do not obviously you do not just want you home back or compensation you want to control all of Cyprus well it ain't gonna happen so the sooner you get used to this idea the better it will be for every one.

You have our lands as well how can some who has an interest in Cyprus be a thief when he already owns past of it. Cyprus has both our names on the deeds not just yours. You cant steal what you already own.
