How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think these are great American classic comedy TV shows, of the past and present.

1. TAXI
2. BARNEY MILLER
3. CHEERES
4. M*A*S*H
5. FRAISER

Almost all others, are stupid. Seinfeld was SO-SO.

you are forgetting one of the greatest american sitcoms of all time, and the formula for many other sitcoms that followed: I Love Lucy. of course, that is classic tv, gone back to the 50's, but almost always on some channel at some time.... i don't think it ever went off the air.

Of course the Simpsons has got to be the best the US has ever produced in terms of satire. Given all of that if you give me a choice of what to add to my collection, then ithas to be Monty and the Marx Brothers and good old Laurel and Hardy.

Bir did you read my script of Monty Python on Cyprus on another thread. Pure satire

No,mate...I will go look for it now. :)

Sorry GG for forgetting "I Love Lucy". Very funny.

@ Zan,

Barney Miller is set at a police precinct in New York in the 70's. Hal Linden plays Captain Barney Miller. Great stuff.

All the shows I mentioned above, are performed by good acting, as well as good funny materials in them. Today's shows lack good acting as well as good materials. They don't even do "Title Music" any more. They just open into a scene from the beginning. BORING.!!!
