My wife is the same as you but women do lack that sort of sophistication. When its on and my sons and I are rolling about laughing she just says “I don’t get it”. I have given up trying to explain.

Oh I get it, I just don't think its as funny as Charlie does...I find it completely annoying. Also, if only men can understand it, I would hardly call it sophisticated no?

What has Monty Pyton sketches got to do with the Cyprus problem?
On second thought...

The Cyprus problem would probably be as funny if it wasn't so tragic...
I must say I am a complete fan of British Humour...My preference is for
Yes,Minister and Fawlty Towers series...One is sophisticated the other slapstick, but both hilarious...as far as I am concerned.

If you have been exposed long enough to British or American humour, you will get the jokes and the humour, no matter how "dry" it is, or not.

I think these are great American classic comedy TV shows, of the past and present.

1. TAXI
2. BARNEY MILLER
3. CHEERES
4. M*A*S*H
5. FRAISER

Almost all others, are stupid. Seinfeld was SO-SO.

I would put Fraiser and M*A*S*H right up their with Monty but the others I can take or leave as the mood takes me. Barney Miller I have never heard of. Of course the Simpsons has got to be the best the US has ever produced in terms of satire. Given all of that if you give me a choice of what to add to my collection, then ithas to be Monty and the Marx Brothers and good old Laurel and Hardy.

Bir did you read my script of Monty Python on Cyprus on another thread. Pure satire
