On the subject of passport photos. An episode in my one man campaign against the state ....
When I last renewed my passport I went up to the Post Office up at our High Street here in London. The nice chap looked at my photo and told me it wouldn't be accepted cos I wasn't sitting against a plain, white background.
So I went away and looked up the regulations and yes he was right White background (no distraction), no glasses, facing forward etc ... But it set no conditions as to what you're wearing.
So my current passport photo has me wearing a very distractive, bright, colourful, silly pullover with a snowy theme, like the ones you get at Xmas.
