Status of British Bases in Cyprus?

What exactley is the status of the british based in cyprus?the britsh were doing backflips to get the annan plan passed which would make there bases permanant in the EU even offered close to 50 sqaure miles of base property to the ROC,does the ROC have legal ways to get these bases removed from cyprus thru the EU? :?:

The Annan plan not only legitimised these bases, it actually gave them sea rights as well!

The bases are the one trump card Cyprus has against the british. Now that we are in the EU, the existance of these bases can be legally challenged in the European courts. That is why the brits do not want to rock the boat in Cyprus because the likelyhood is they would loose their bases!

Not true Mikkie,

As long as the RoC exists, the agreements of 1960 stand and the bases are legal. That is why the recognition of the RoC is not in question by any of the "allies", IMO.

The bases are on a lease basis. The british should be paying the RoC for their use. They currently do not!

I'm a bit confused with the tc not in the ROC does that not mean that the 1960 agreement is not valid.
