would you care to explain to me how making a statement of truth makes me racist? and why am I tired? I support my previous statement the US is an invading force in Iraq and the Bush administration is responsible for the deaths of innocent people, men women, children and young american soldiers.

My initial post if you care to read is advocating for demilitarisation and calling off national service. That my dear Gorilla is not a racist ideological view. I do not hold the view that the west knows best nor do I hold the view that we need to impose our views, practices and beliefs on others. If there is an undemocratic process within Iraq it is up to the Iraqi people to take appropriate action to rectify that. I do not recall that the Iraqi people called upon the US, UK or Australia to intervene. The coalition leaders led by Bush took it uon themselves to unecessarily and under false pretence to invade Iraq, hence bringing suffering and death to innocent lives. There is a great show called "News Hour" think it airs on American television. My views are shared by many Americans themselves.

Don't be so naive man !!! The murdering savages are daily committing suicide in market places , on buses at wedding ceremonies at funeral processions and at any other place that is packed with innocent so that they can cause as much destruction and death as possible. The Bush administration can not wait to get out of this mess just as soon as some order is established by the Iraqi forces to control this prehistoric savages and stop their random killings. They are in such a fucking hurry to get to paradise they do not give a shit about their nation or their people .They had elections and with the American help they got rid of a tyrant.
LONG LIVE AMERICA.

A reduced working day to enable parents to spend quaity time with their children teaching them, guiding them, role modelling that is what will change community attitudes. National service will not ...... it can teach discipline but now social order infact it can be a place of isolation for many young men for many reasons. Most members of minority groups experience some form of discrimination.

thank you miltiades. at least someone gets it.
and my initial post, if you care to read it dear humanist, is to say that there is no point in demilitarization, because evil is evil, it exsists, and so therefore, the military is a necessity. you seem to want to live in a dreamworld where all that can go away. i would like it to as well, but it can't, and won't. i never mentioned anything about my nationality. you attacked it, thus proving your racism.

i am here on this site to learn about cyprus, not to debate anyone's political views. but if you attack my country, i will defend it, just as you would yours. that, my dear humanist, is part of the human condition.

Ok Gorillagal the military is necessary. Would you care to tell us why is it necessary? For defence or to attack a country 15,000 miles away?

To take revenge against a lunatic from Saudi Arabia who utilised Pakistanis and UK and Lebanon raised suiciders to do the 9/11, by attacking a totally different Country like Iraq?

My point is you country is using it's military the same way a gungster uses the possession of an illegal weapon to make robberies. I am not attacking you on a personal basis, and there is no need for you to feel offended(on a personal basis)

this thread was not ever about the USA, and there is no need to bring that up here. humanist is the one who started this, and i want the whole thing about the USA to end here, and start a new thread if you want to bash us. as for why the military is a necessity, perhaps you should read this thread from the beginning. i am not going to re-hash, for the 3rd time, why a military is necessary.
where are you pyrpolizer?
cypriots whould know and understand the need for a military more than anyone else. THAT is my point exactly. remember 1974.

End of discussion regarding the US then.

I am in Cyprus GorillaGal and I do understand the need for the military here. To be honest with you I disgust the military, I disgust everything that has to do with it, and if there is God up there all I wish is that he did not send me on this planet to never-ever be forced to pull a trigger against a human being even for self defense.

I do hope the Cyprob is one day solved and we are totally demilitarised here.

NB. I even disgust the hunters who shoot at innocent birds and animals.
