Direct Flights to TRNC from UK and Sweeden

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Direct Flights to TRNC from UK and Sweeden

Postby elko » Thu Dec 14, 2006 2:46 pm

There are strong signals that direct flight will start to TRNC from UK and Sweden in the first half of 2007. This move is independent from the efforts of EU Presidency in the first half of 2007 under Germany. As you all know, Germany has made a strong commitment to lift the embargoes against TRNC.

Some may say that there are legal obstacles against such a move. If that is the case, how come direct flights between Turkey and TRNC have been going on for years and the GCs have not been able to do anything about it?

Just a word for the fanatics here: please save your efforts, this is a serious subject and lets have your legal reasons if you have any. No need for the usual blah blah blah.

you want legal reasons?

Ercan is an illegal airport as it hasn;t been designated as one of the country's airports by the ROC
Cyprus FIR is under the ROC

So Elko will they also lift the embargo you impose against 200,000 GC refugees.
Will those 200,000 be able to fly and settle back to their own properties?
What is the flight number, and whats the airline carrier for that?

The GC can do nothing about the flights between Turkey and the occupied areas as it is "designated" turkish airspace.

It takes CY over 4 hours to fly to Moscow. If they could fly directly over the occupied areas it would halve the time.

Do we see a repeatition of the mentality of "what is mine is mine, and what is yours is also mine" by Elko?
Or does he think unilateral violations of ones rights are fine as long as his rights are served this way.

By the way Elko the EU did not make a strong committment to lift the embargos against the 'trnc". this is false translation.
It re-declared its commitment against the isolation of the TCs. This does not mean the embargos the trnc is self imposing on you.

You are comparing apples with pears, do you have direct flights? isnt this the right of every human being, what makes you different?

The property issue is the same for both sides, do TC refugees have the right to take back their homes or are they faced with obstacles of residency and legal wrangling? You to have the right to take the legal route and even move back like Msss Loizidou.

Do you believe that the Christian Democrats and their Bavarian allies will lift the embargo in occupied N. Cyprus? The same people that are calling to kick out of germany the turks will help the turks?
