Passport Question

Here's one of my blond questions!

When you have moved to Cyprus to live, where do you get your passport renewed?

Hi Dee,
A friend of mine has just renewed his passport, and I think he said he did it in Nicosia at the British Consulate. I'll check with him this morning and let you know the details.

To be pedantic, the British High Commission, not the Conulate! As I understand it, those countries which were part of the British Empire have BHC and those which were not, have Consulates.

I think the reciprocal applies: Cyprus has a High Commission in the UK but a Consulate in the USA.

To be even more pedantic, the Consular Services of the British High Commission. A High Commission is the equivalent of an Embassy (not a Consulate) within the Commonwealth (not the Empire)! :-)

Be prepared to pay a lot more for your passport, at the High commission, consulate or whatever the hell the place is called.

It cost about twice as much as it would doing it in the UK.

I was told by my father couple of weeks ago in London, that his next 10 year passport was going to cost around £ 100 + pounds. He may have said £ 120 pounds.
