They should do that yes. Most countries add extra time if you renew early.

Are the fees not higher, if you want a "fast track" service, like the same day.??

I guess same day services are things of the past. With the modern coded passports, they have to be "Made in England".

I concur with the information provided by all the other forum users. the friend that I spoke of paid £82cy for his new British passport, and the whole procedure took about 10 days.
Apologies for the delay in adding this bit of (now useless) information, but my modem crashed, and dear old Cyta have just brought me a new one!
