eight chapters to be frozen

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby rawk » Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:11 am

I would just like to add that my thoughts are that the Annan plan was not the best solution for Cyprus and should have had more input from both communities before being put to the vote.

There was too much rush and things moved to the EU agenda.

We can all be friends here without labels, Pyrpolizer.

I cannot help wonder whether Europe is really aware of the consequences of not sustaining the accession process at a time when a modern and prosperous Turkey is becoming increasingly relevant to the well-being of the European Union and beyond. Let me remind readers that Turkey, which has already achieved a cumulative growth rate of 35 percent in the last four years, will soon become the sixth largest economy of Europe. The pace and depth of reform in Turkey complements this huge economic growth.

When just 2 days ago the FM was on TV saying that unless there is a specific deadline for Turkey they would not consent to anything, and this would result in total freezing of Turkeys accession?
And now they came back almost like dogs with the tail inside their ass aggreeing to everything?
Do you know that everybody disappeared from the face of the earth, you name them Papadopoulos the FM everybody and refuse to address the people to explain them what happened?
Do you know the spokesman just uttered somethings to the reporters and he was as if someone has dressed him from top to bottom with shit?

Haven't you realised that Turkey got NO PUNISHMENT whatsoever, the 8 chapters frozen were not to be negotiated but at the END in any case.

For your information I never actually beleived that this EU muscling would really be successful but I was willing to see where our leaders were taking us. It all proved a lie. Papadopoulos knew he could not do it and he knew the reasons very well. In fact if you notice I did mentioned the reasons in this forum a couple of times lately.

So if Papadopoulos knew he could not do it then what is his policy? Do you think that any reasonable GC has ever digested the fact he avoids to meet Talat.

Jeez in the past we were almost begging Denkrash to meet now we have Talat you is begging us and Papadopoulos refuses. Do you know that Talat was even sending Papadopoulos Christmas presents to flatter him I mean baskets with traditional cypriot goodies like olives and other stuff? what other evidence does one need to beleive Talat was honest and sincere? OK lets say Papadopoulos needed some time to kill the Anan Plan and start afresh. Well, enough time hasn't passed already?

What is his policy damn it?

NB. I as the only one in here telling you all in here you should show respect to the Honourable President Mr Tassos Papadopoulos, not because he was somebody but he was the President.
From Today on he proved he doesn't reserve it.

Go to hell Papadopoule, we are looking forward to kick you out in a couple of years. We didn't need to to bring us the stupid Anan Plan and then tell us to turn it down, we could do it ourselves idiot.

wow I am truely amazed is this you Pyrpolizer or someone else using your nik? when did you wake up to all this? well done.

How about my other no reasonable doubt that the Anan Plan was not only unfair it would not bring a state of law but a state of anarchy and partition within 6 months?

You are right the Annan plan was not perfect but no plan will be, plus it was the only plan ever put before the people for us to decide. It was a great opportunity to resolve things once and for all but it was shot down by a resounding no, this hit the TCs very hard and as mrfrong said you hit a TC and he will hit you back with a spade. The trend in the north at the moment is very much we are better as we are and we dont need reunification. ıf your current leaders continue as they are TCs will cling on stronger to the TRNC hoping that in time, maybe a long time with the easing of isolation (EU to review in Jan) the TRNC will be recognized.

Here, here. Another one who things the EU is going to bring them Christmas presents. VP haven't you realised yet what the EU is? Forget about the EU man, unless we work out something between ourselves nothing is going to happen. Your isolation might become softer through the EU but will still remain an isolation. The same with the current division of our country. What you need is a whole Country, with whole freedom, and whole out of isolation. You can work this out ONLY with us, so from your side help keep Turkey out of the way as much as possible.

You are right, it took us 2 years to confirm that Papadopoulos is leading us nowhere. You may say its my personal view but just wait a little, I can guarantee you my view will be dominant in the next few days/weeks. Fact is Papadopoulos is finished, I am sure he already knows that. The problem is he might just crunch his remaining time at Presidency (another 2 years) burrying us completely, or he might just take advantage of the new initiative the Americans will push in January and hopefully end up to a solution with Talat.

I hope he is patriot enough to do the second, otherwise he will just be written in history as another politician who destroyed us.

So it took us 2 years to have no reasonable doubts about him, how many years did it take you to realise that for Denktash? 40+???

Glad to hear this, but the dynamics are totally different in the north as to the south and even taking these into account we got rid of Denktas and replaced him with a pro solution man, we have no other men more pro soluiton than Talat, so if you cant agree it with him then you have no chance with anyone else.

The fact that we are unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel has pushed and fuelled TCs into wanting consolidation and recognition as the EU will not be able to solve squat, the correct address is the UN and this is what your leaders want to avoid at all costs due to past experience of having to compromise to find a solution.

It took you 2 years but he is still in power...who knows exactly how long he will be there, with the support of AKel he could be there for another term.
